He’s a very good player. The Fellaini comparison holds no weight, other than the fact they’re both tall.

Basing opinions on this World Cup, Shaqiri is better than Messi.

The Teams he’s played against were the perfect opportunity for a player supposedly looking for a big money move.. you’d think he’d be trying to put himself in the window with a few performances. Not even seen glimpses

I must say i've watched a few of his vs. clips on YT. Hadn't been overly impressed until I saw his performance against Napoli. There's a bit of Pogba in him I think.

There's a lot of Pogba in Pogba, and that's a player who was is Sissoko's shadow at the Euros, and thus far has been about the same value for money for Utd.

Well I wasn't exactly saying it as a compliment, more something in between. As I said, i'm not completely convinced he's what we're in need of in terms of being a playmaker. He's similar to Pogba in that he seems capable of really poor stuff but also capable of a piece of brilliance. There's definitely glimpses of wonderful technique but it's not all quite there with him imo. He's an interesting player but a bit enigmatic hence my comparison to Pogba.

Pogba is an exercise in sadomasochism; release an ok player for free, swallow the hype for a couple of years then pay an extortionate amount to buy back the ok player. Only to feel like you’ve been shafted gently by a velveted charmer while maintaining the deal was smart business

In as much as you shouldn’t necessarily buy players off the back of a good tournament, the same can be said about writing players off and this definitely applies to Milinkovic-Savic who’s clearly a talent yet granted hasn’t produced nearly enough to showcase that this summer.

In some ways, this might be the ideal time to strike up a deal...

I think he's certainly very talented but for us I'd much prefer Kovacic.

Not that we're in the running for Savic anyway I'm guessing.

Everyone in here would absolutely freak if we pulled this off... Maybe its just putting him down before we end the window when we don't get him.

I think assassination is a slight overreaction to not being able to sign him.

Oh how quickly we forget the dynamism of Winks in some of his matches pre injury.

The drooling performance against RM in Champions league.

A fit Winks could well have shone at this World Cup, reinforcements by all means, but a raging boner for this Serbian...I'd quite like to see what Harry can do.

I'm all for strengthening, however, certainly wouldn't want to write Winks off so soon, many seem excited by Savic, but do we truly know how good Winks could be with a injury free run.

Savic is waaayy too much wedge, and whilst I concede we may need an addition or two in Midfield, I'm not sure this guy is actually the astronomical supposed fee ahead of what Winks could be.

I'll reserve judgement, but I hear this shite every season about this or that player.

Who was it last season.

Thomas Lemar...all and sundry around Europe supposedly wanting him. £90 million bids turned down wasn't it.

This season...2 goals, 10 assists. Whoopy feckin do dah.

In conclusion, If I was looking to buy a player for circa £100 million, i'd be looking for a damn sight more than 'might find the Prem pace to quick'

Watched him against Brazil. Lumbering and slow witted. What is everyone wetting their pants over? Paulinho looked the dogs balls in comparison FFS. I liked him in some of the Serie matches I’ve seen but if you can’t perform when it counts, then you don’t cut the mustard.

Yeah Messi!

I didn't really watch enough of Savic to form an opinion but you would think something would have shone through. Still you would hope that the coaching team will have watched him for a long time if they decide he is what we need and that decision would unlikely be made against a few underwhelming world cup games.

Absolutely, but for me, it's the media hype-train that's the cause of it. Haven't seen him play at all for Lazio and the few games I've seen of him during the WC didn't impress me

This is like the opposite (but equally as stupid) thing of buying a player based on one good performance in the world cup.

You should tell this to all the teams that want Lewandowski.
