For one reason or another I believe we'll go for Thomas Delaney of Werder Bremen rather than spend big bucks on someone like Savic.

@3'50" he says he can "see himself playing in the premier league and that shouldn't be a secret."

Herc has said to watch that country (Germany), and in January herc posted ITK saying we had a player tied up in a similar position who was a better player than Ross Barkley (a no.8 - which Delaney is...).

There have also been various news stories on Spurs' interest in Delaney, though I'm not sure any 'solid' news outlets other than the Sun.

Regarding German players, weren't we linked to Benjamin Pavard a few weeks/months ago? Haven't seen much of him but seems like a bit of a Dier. CB and DM.

Would love a player like Savic. A dembele replacement?
But got a feeling he wont come to us.

Don't think we'll get a look in but I'd be more than happy with Ndombele from Lyon. He looks like the proper Dembele replacement we need and is a lot more creative than MD as well. Beast player.

Third time lucky with the French N players? ;)

I'm not totally positive he's leaving Lazio. They're one game away from champions league qualification and he may want to play Champions league with Lazio next season then see what's what. He's only 23 so he has plenty of time to make his big move.

Think he will be leaving Lazio now after last night’s result. Where to is the question though.

So....it's worth noting that Lazio well and truly fucked it last night and failed to qualify for CL.

I watched the bulk of their game with Inter. Needless to say Savic stood out, looks like a next level talent.

However, Lazio were 2-1 up early in the 2nd half. As it stood they would be 4th with Inter 5th. Then Stefan De Vrij, who incidentally is joining Inter in the summer, gave away the most horrendous penalty. Inter scored it and then 3 mins later scored again and won the game 3-2.

Inter finished 4th and got CL, Lazio finished 5th and will be in EL. Lazio were devastated (apart from De Vrij who helped his new club get into CL at the expense of his old club - bit dodgy some might say).

My first love was inter. May 5 2002 and Inter, lying top of the league, needed a win against Lazio to guarantee the scudetto. Juventus were second but if results went their way Roma could also sneak it. Roma has won it the previous season and two in a row would be too much for the lazio ultras. The Lazio fans very openly came out and said they would be supporting Inter.

In the previous weeks inter had been at the receiving end of some dubious decisions. But they had conceded deep into stoppage time against chievo and looked tired in the previous weeks.

The two lineups were packed full of legends. This was peak Serie A. Lazio, who had won the league two years earlier, could boast a starting 11 with Nesta, Jaap Stam, Poborski, Fernando Couto, Diego Simeone, Dejan Stankovic, and Simone Inzaghi. Inter had Francesco Toldo, Córdoba, Zanetti, Materazzi, Du Biagio, Conceicao, Recoba, Vieri and Ronaldo. Inter were almost playing a 4-2-4.

Inter were 2-1 up at half time and Lazios performance was abject. The lazio president is said to have entered the dressing room at half time and bollocked the team. Each inter goal was celebrated by the sizeable travelling support but also a number of lazio fans.

45 Minutes later and lazio had won the game 4-2. Juventus won and were crowned champions.

Inter had bottled it.

So last nights game was a very smal moment of catharsis. Especially given very dodgy decisions earlier in the season (including the Juventus game which at the time effectively handed them the title).

Juventus - what a bag of ****s.

I went to see Inter twice around that time, Recoba is one of my all time favourite players. Inter are my second team having supported them since a teen. Seeing Ronaldo live is one of my footballing highlights. Have to thank Football Italia, because of the hat show I probably saw more Inter games then Spurs games for a long period.

Anyway, I really didn't see anything in the tackle, was a bad one but didn't look dubious. He had been pretty solid for the most part. As for Savic, he will definitely be off, but he will be way to much for us and I'm sure there will be a bidding war. Utd will most likely offer him a mega contract, although supposedly they want Fred now. I don't see how we would have a chance.

What is this 'second team' of which you speak? How is this even possible?

ha, I watch a lot of football and like to follow different teams in different leagues. None come close o my love for spurs. But when I was young my dad, who's an artist, traveled a lot around Europe/us having exhibitions and would take me to games. Inter at the San siro, Barca at camp nou etc and would often get to meet the players after. So as a young man I fell in love with the style of football played outside of England and I still feel an affinity for some of the teams.

Bit daft of them to play him in that situation, what with Serie A not being the type of league to fix any matches :cautious::censored:
