Bit daft of them to play him in that situation, what with Serie A not being the type of league to fix any matches :cautious::censored:

Agreed, I wouldn't have played him in that particular game. The challenge was horrendously reckless and gifted the game back to Inter when they weren't looking all that threatening.

I don't think De Vrij did it on purpose but it's possible and it certainly doesn't look good overall.

Meh....not unlike our Welsh FB in Turin tbf. His eyes were fixed on the ball and didn’t see the attacker coming.

It's poor form for him to even be put in that situation tbh

United close to signing Fred apparently. Can't see them signing Milinkovic-Savic too, now.

Unless Pogba is off!

No CL for Lazio...Savic has to be a potential option. He will be expensive for sure but this man I believe is the best of the best in terms of age and quality.

With Utd close to Fred, I couldn’t see him going unless Pogba leaves, which I could only see him go to Madrid...if that were the case, Kovacic you would like to think would become available?

Same if Madrid bought Savic...

I just think if we are to blow £70m on a player, he is the guy we should be doing it on!

*i know we won’t spend £70m on de Ligt, before you all kill me*

I could see United signing Fred and M-Savic. Fellaini is probably leaving and Herrera has been shite for the last 18 months. Over his career Jose has preferred a 3 man midfield and at the minute they only have Matic and Pogba that he can trust. He’s used McTominay regularly this season. Could really see them splashing out on both.

The good news is there's a lot of great CM options out there in the market but the negative is that we might have to wait until the big boys have made their moves. I don't care if it's deadline day though as long as someone of a high standard comes in.

There's loads of potential options. Semi realistic ones are probably Jorginho, Diawara, SMS, Fred, Kovacic, Weigl, Tolisso, Dahoud, Rabiot, Kondogbia and probably more. There's also a few second tier options in Ndombele, De Jong and Gomes if things get a bit desperate.

Can't see teams bigger than us signing all of those players this window. No excuse not to bring in anyone.

I'm too Spurs high this morning with the Poch contract but I want this guy so badly. He would take us to the next level. Absolute best signing we could possibly make, probably no chance it happens but man he would transform us.

I just have a feeling that Arsenal will sign this bloke.

All top PL teams are reportedly targeting or close to midfield options.

United close on Fred
Liverpool are signing Keita and reportedly after Talisca
City with Jorginho
Arsenal/Chelsea are either gonna sign Seri by the looks of it

So that leaves us and one of Arsenal/Chelsea to fight it out for Savic if all these options do happen.

Maybe other clubs have looked at other targets due to the considerable price Lazio are demanding.

This guy, de Ligt and Martial would be a hell of a window and likely best around Europe. Would have to take some crazy negotiating by Levy to keep it under 170mil.

I didn't realise there were only 5 good CMs in Europe.

It is meant that if any PL team were to pursue him, us and either Arsenal/Chelsea would most likely be the only teams willing to go for him as seemingly the other top teams are chasing alternatives.

As for the other good CM's, unfortunately there's no threads created for them just yet.

According to Ed Maylon of The Independent, ManU are balking at an £80million price tag for him.

I personally think they've already baulked and gone with the cheaper option of Fred. They appear to be moving very quickly on Fred and I take this as a inclination that they have pulled out of the race for Savic. Only if they sell Pogba will Savic come in and they aren't selling Pogba on the cheap, so are likely stuck with him.

United need to strengthen other positions too, they need new CBs, a left back and another attacker and Mourinho has moaned about not being able to spend another 200m. I can't see him going there now.

Imagine if United are no longer interested and the others aren't either, Lazio would certainly have to drop their asking price? We then may have a chance.

Only so many clubs are going to be interested and if others act first - like United appear to be doing - it may leave us, unless we have moved on ourselves.
