i think it will be a lot closer this year.

the likes of ronaldinho and pato want a place in the brazilian squad for the world cup and will be up for it as showed in milan's first game.

ronaldinho ran the show and looked nothing like the gaucho of last year.

Inter are still favourites of course, they're the champions and Juve and Milan have rookie managers. But I still think Inter need to strengthen to add some creativity to their midfield, personally I don't care if they don't as I want Milan to win. But I do think it will be a lot closer this season.

According to reports in Italy, Wesley Sneijder will officially become an Inter player later today for £13m.
The two clubs already had an agreement, as confirmed by agent Soren Lerby, but the move was collapsing because he was determined to stay and fight for his place at Real Madrid.

However, the Dutchman was dropped from the last two friendly games against Borussia Dortmund and Rosenborg.

Now Sky Sport Italia claim Sneijder has been talked into the transfer and is already on his way to Italy.

The contract and announcement could be completed by tonight or at most tomorrow morning.

The other sticking point was the contract, as Sneijder was reportedly demanding £3m per season compared to the £2.5m offered by Inter.

It’s believed a crisis meeting was held at the Nerazzurri headquarters after the Italian Super Cup defeat to Lazio and Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bari.

Jose Mourinho reiterated he needs a trequartista to complete his squad.

Top signing! Lass was wearing his number 10 shirt in the game against Rosenborg last night which made it pretty obvious Sneijder was not part of plans there

Now why cant AC Milan sign someone like that? They still need a quality left back and quality centre midfielder.

I just don't think the funds are there for Milan. I think a lot of the Kaka money went in to clearing some club debt. Someone like Fabio Grosso who is being linked with Juve would be a better option for Milan at LB rather than Jankulovski

I still don't know why Milan didn't sign Cissokho, just because he had dental problems?? Sounds dodgy!!!

Anyway if it goes through then it's a great signing for Inter. Mourinho's not stupid, he knows where they're lacking and it looks like they'll be filling that gap now

"Wesley Sniejder belongs to Inter.

"The medical tests were concluded this morning and the Dutch midfielder has signed a four-year deal that will tie him to the club until June 30, 2013.

"The contracts have already been deposited with the football league. Sneijder arrives from Real Madrid on a permanent basis and the player has already gone to the Angelo Moratti training ground."

This is going horribly wrong for Milan, 2-0 down to Motta and Milito pen and Gattuso sent off just before he was about to be subbed as he was injured.

3-0 now, Maicon :-(

Milan are bloody awful tonight. Jankulovski has been shocking. I cant believe they haven't signed a left back since the Cissoko deal broke down. And Gattuso had a complete mare. Gave away a penalty, got booked, picked up an injury, then just as Seedorf was preparing to replace him, Gattuso picks up a 2nd yellow card. He's obviously still suffering from the long lay off last season, but that was really poor. Its all downhill now. The only good that could come from this is it could tempt Milan to sign 1 or 2 players on Tuesday. They need to.

Inter are looking a lot better going forward with Sneijder. Milan thru this game away though, at 2-0 when Gattuso was ready to come off Seedorf wasn't ready and had to put his shirt on, shinpads etc By then it was too late

Was easy for Inter in the end, embarrassing for Leonardo and Milan.

3 good goals from Inter tonight though.

leonardo never should've started with gattuso, the game was won by inter thanks to his inclusion. i think huntelaar showed some promise when he entered the arena, had some shots on goal and this was when they were with 10 men.

i have to give credit for mourinho in letting sneijder start the game even though he hasn't even trained yet with his new teammates.

you can sense by the rest of the inter players how much a player like sneijder has given them more confidence, especially how eto'o was smiling at sneijder all the time during the game.

What a goal from De Rossi, quickly taken free kick and he blasts it from a way out over Buffon. Great game

Diego scores again, another great individual effort, looking like a fantastic signing. 2-1 Juve

Felipe Melo gets a debut goal in injury time to make it 3-1. Juve looked like their old selves today

Are you kidding? A nasty, niggly, disjointed kicking match, with only Diego's free-kick and goal and de Rossi's goal standing out from the general shitness. Things may have improved after half-time, but I'd given up caring.

Diego scored two great individual efforts and De Rossi's goal was superb. Roma Juve is always like that, they hate each other. Full of hard tackles and passion, it was a great game, but it may have seemed greater due to the fact I had just watched a shite fest of football in the form of Pompey and Citeh.
