Diego scored two great individual efforts and De Rossi's goal was superb. Roma Juve is always like that, they hate each other. Full of hard tackles and passion, it was a great game, but it may have seemed greater due to the fact I had just watched a shite fest of football in the form of Pompey and Citeh.

I had the strangest premonition that would be total rubbish, so didn't even bother.

i think it will be a lot closer this year.

Are you sure? Milan looked like the complete pile of turd that they have been for the last few years. How anybody in their right mind can think that they would be closer to Inter this year baffles me. They lost easily their best player in Kaka and didn't solve the majority of major issues they had, i.e. ageing midfield, dodgy defence and keeper, complete lack of pace and physical presence and the over reliance on Pirlo to be creative.

They signed Huntelaar who I think will be excellent for them, but that is just covering up the obvious cracks. They needed to rebuild, I have been harping on about it for a year or so. They had such a great opportunity to start from scratch with a new strategy having sold Kaka and Maldini retiring. They wasted it. Inter are better than last year, they have brought in very good players (Sneijder, Eto'o, Thiago Motta, Milito and Lucio) to what was already the best team by a mile in Serie A. Sure they lost Ibra, but they made 40 million and got Eto'o to make up for it as well as having already signed Milito.

Juve have gotten stronger too, especially in midfield. But honestly it is a huge failure by Milan. Maybe at the end of this season they will realise they need to start over, but having seen them a lot in the last few seasons it seems they just don't notice their problems.

I enjoyed Roma v Juve, fair result in the end. Roma looked pretty average though, up until De Rossi's wonder strike they looked clueless and the crowd were getting on their back. Juve looked solid and Diego was decisive with good goals at crucial moments.

IOMLS I do think Milan need some fresh players but I think Leonardo is basically relying on Dinho getting back his past form to be the main influence creatively. If he can do this then a front 3 of Dinho, Pato, and Huntelaar looks quite good imo. It's just behind this that needs work, Flamini should do ok this season but they need to replace the likes of Gattuso, Ambrosini, Pirlo, and Seedorf (who did ok on Sat) with some fresher, younger legs. Looks like that's not going to happen though, Sneijder will make a massive difference for Inter, but I still have hope that Milan will improve upon last season despite the humiliation on Sat.

Spalleti sacked then, guess the Romans weren't too impressed with Sundays loss. Even so, what an odd time to get rid of him.

They hadn't been too impressed for a while now. It's a strange one because he really is a top class coach (he was coach of the year in Serie A for 2 or 3 season on the bounce not so long ago).

I went to the Stadio Olimpico back in April. It was a weird experience. For the first 75 minutes of the game half of the stadium was empty and there was more noise coming from outside the ground than inside. Than on about 75 minutes all the Roma fans from outside the ground flooded in. They didn't watch any football they just chanted at the board and at Spalletti.

To be honest Roma are a bit of a mess. They had a good few seasons, when they perhaps should have won the title (at least once). Then things just started going wrong. Now they have money issues, the fans have turned on them and they are committed to the same underperforming bunch of players.

I'm sure they will get a bit of a lift from Ranieri going there but he has a big job.

His main task is getting Totti fully fit and getting some form back. For a player of his ability he was shocking against Juve, he looks overweight and a year or so ago the one on one he had with Buffon would have definately been in the back of the net. You would think Ranieri might change the formation as Roma have been playing with just 1 up top under Spalletti for a long time now.

Sneijder has got a potentially very serious foot injury, noooooo! Hopefully it's not too serious as he is key for Inter in their attempt to finally do well in the CL.

I agree 100%. In Italy I was watching telelombardia sport program (which involves a bunch of journalists argueing with each other who think there are only 3 clubs in serie A (inter, Juve, Milan)) which is dreadfull but funny, and I was supprised by how many of them actually belived Milan could win it...

or for that matter call Juve Favorites..... sure Juve are my joint favorite Italian team, but Im not stupid..

Spalleti sacked then, guess the Romans weren't too impressed with Sundays loss. Even so, what an odd time to get rid of him.

I thought he resigned when I was in Italy it sounded very much like a resignation..Having said that it looked like there were big disagreements with the board, not only because he was under-achieving but also because Spalleti had arguement over signings.

e.g. he wanted another goalkeeper they gave him a 30something has been ect. ect.

P.S. FORZA JUVE and FORZA SAMPDORIA

i think it will be a lot closer because inter have their mind set on the champions league and treat serie a not as a priority.

they will rest players domestically when an important game in europe is coming up. sure they have the squad to rest players but everyone involved at inter will focus on europe.

they've won the scudetto 4 times in a row? or was it 5? for them not winning it this year is not that big of a loss when they will finally succeed in europe.

What a goal from Sammy Eto'o for Inter against Parma, Inter were really struggling to find a goal

As I said last season, I wish we had Marek Hamsik in our midfield. Great first half display from him tonight capped off by a great goal

Quality player. Was better in 2007/08 than last season. He seemed to lose his way a little in the second half of the season last year, but he has all the makings of a truly top class box to box midfielder.

There are quite a few midfielders currently in Serie A who I could see doing well in the Premiership. Far more so than with strikers or defenders.

I think Balotelli has the wrong attitude for a start, he already thinks he is a superstar but also i think he should have been loaned out like most other young Inter players, ie Biabiany the young french lad who is on loan at Parma, looks a terrific prospect. Milito was really bad for 86mins but then took his goal brilliantly. The Genoa Napoli game was fantastic, 3 red cards, 2 penalties and a wonder goal from Mesto, Genoa have again invested wisely and don't seem to be missing Milito or Motta as much as i thought they would

I thought Balotelli played well yesterday, definitely still very raw but considering he was playing midfield when I think he's mainly a striker I thought he worked hard and did well. Inter looked much better in the 2nd half with him on imo. Was a lovely goal by Eto'o though and Milito's finish was clinical.

Yep Genoa vs Napoli was very entertaining, had a good atmosphere to it aswell, Palacio seems to have settled well, Crespo's finish was very tidy.

Anybody see Juve? they're looking really good I think. Another win in Rome and this one was also quite comfortable even though the goals came late, Giovinco came on quite early for Diego who got injured and showed some glimpses of his fantastic potential. In the end it was Caceres on his debut and Trezeguet who got the goals to make it 2-0 and 3 out of 3 for them.

Juve did play well, 2 wins out of 2 at the stadio olimpico is a great effort. It was also a pretty different side to the one that won against Roma. Amauri played very well and I'm so glad Woolwich didn't get Felipe Melo. They will push inter all the way but I'm sure inter will come out on top. Milan on the other hand will have to improve a lot to finish top 4

Oh yea meant to mention Biabiany, he looked like he was Parma's most dangerous attacking player, had great close control and speed when dribbling but lacked the end product at times.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on over the season, I always find it weird in Italy though when loan players are often allowed to play against parent clubs, I could be wrong but I think it happens in La Liga still too. I know it used to happen here also but I think there's a rule against that now isn't there?
