To paraphrase Gary Linekar - Serie A is a competition where 20 teams battle it out and Juventus win.

It would be foolish to bet against that happening again. They’ve strengthened significantly bringing in Joao Cancelo and Bonucci at the back, Perrin in goal, Can on a free and of course Ronaldo. They’ve lost Caldara, Higuain and the legendary Buffon but they feel stronger overall.

But the quality in the rest of the league is steadily rising as there is more outside investment.

Roma had an impressive CL run and with Monchi pulling the strings in the transfer market they will be a serious force again this year. Pastore, Kluivert and Ante Coric bolster an already impressive attacking selection. How wel they replace Alisson will be important.

Napoli have Ancelotti at the helm. He’s like Pochs dad - class personified. He will get them ticking ...eventually. I don’t know much about Fabian Ruiz but Simone Verdi is a decent buy up front. Coping with the loss of Sarri and Jorginho could see them cede 2nd place ...

Milan are scum but have bought well. Still a joke of a club though.

Which brings me into inter ...

Looking like an embarrassment of riches for Spalletti to play with. They could line up
—————— Handanovic
Vrsaljko - Skriniar - Miranda —Asamoah
————Naingolan——Brozovic
Balde ———L. Martinez————Perisic
————————Icardi

And have De Vrij, Dambrosio, Dalbert, Vecino, Gagliardini, Valero, Karomah, Politano, Candreva and Pinamonti on the bench. And imagine if Modric ends up coming!!

Then thatd be a team that could have a go at the CL - with the quality and experience that side would have.

But we’ve been here before ....

Anyway... exciting season in Italy coming up ... 4th CL spot bringing in extra €€€€ could make a big difference.

Excited to see how Ronaldo gets on. I can see it being a lot more competitive this year. Inter have strengthened well.

Still a few signings that could be made.

Napoli continue their poor pre-season form losing 3-1 to Wolfsburg. Higuain scores for Milan in. 3-1 loss to Real Madrid.

Inter beat Atlético Madrid at theirs - 1-0. Lauturo Martinez with a great volley.

Gonna be a tough season in Serie D for me after Bari went bankrupt and were kicked out of Serie B this summer :(

Roma already replaced Alisson with the Swedish keeper, didn't they? He looked pretty solid at the WC.

Yeh that was poorly expressed. How good of a replacement he turns out to be...will be crucial to their success.

Alisson was so good last year.

AC Milan facing Genoa, Napoli and Roma in their first three games in Serie A. Had a decent pre-season and bringing in Higuain, Caldara, Strinic, Halilovic, Pepe Reina has strengthen them imo. It also looks like Bakayoko is coming in on a season loan from Chelski.
Gattuso did well after taking over mid-season and rewarded with a new contract

Imo the title race is between Juventus and Inter Milan.

Hate to be that guy, but I'm going to be anyway...it's just Serie A, not Série A.

Série A is the Brazilian top division

Juventus and Claudio Marchisio both agreed on terminating contract. I gonna come out and say it, we could need some of Marchisio's quality in our team

100% agree, regarding Claudio Marchisio. Might be 32, but our midfield could use someone of his class and finesse in the middle.

Don’t see it happening, but a nice 2 year contract as a free agent, would happily take!

Knowing Italy though, will probably end up at Lazio or something...

I really want to see Lautaro playing there, he seems to be the natural heir to Aguero in the Argentine national team.

Juventus should be the champions again, but Inter is a interesting team to follow.

Some serious rumors going around Sergej Milinković-Savić and AC Milan. €40 million season loan with the option to buy

Depends how much the option is, probably just a way round ffp
Yep - Italian clubs have done this for a number of years (particular Milan clubs).

Large loan fee whose intention is really to reduce the (often compulsory) buy price in a year.
