Good news is that Coulthirst is reminding Southend manager what he can add to the side
Southend fans have been impressed with him, it just seems to be another Slade situation imo

Surprised that he was not moved in January TW then ?

Problem atm, is that he's not had a decent amount of playing time to prove himself anywhere. If he's going to succeed, think he needs to have a pre-season playing with Spurs first team, but that's easier said than done as we are bound to buty another first team striker in the summer TW.

I think its certain that Adebayor will be shifted and one brought in. I think Shaq is in the same position that obika was at one point but probably worse because he has pace. Russell Slade, loves to bring on fast players against tired legs. Issue is that doesnt give many minutes to the players and it seems the same is happening at southend.

I think he will end up on loan again but I hope we see him for the U21's.

I would imagine he is training with our first rather than our youth team at the moment so who knows.

Recalled from Sothend today - just was not being played enough.

Record at Southend in the league was 4 goals in 12 starts and 10 off the bench totalling 1033 minutes - equivalent to a goal in under 3 games. Neither good nor bad - their leading scorer has 9 league goals and 2nd leading scorer 5 goals in a low scoring side.

The goals include this one which he does well to get into the opposition box - and then waits before making a very decent header to score.

But it seems an age - but only just over 2 years - since he scored a memorable 'perfect' hatrick away against Barcelona (one with right foot, one with left foot and one header) in NextGen Series and less since AVB first put him on the first team bench.

Definitely worth seeing if we can resurect things for him, ideally with some intensive coaching on forward play and playing in u21's to gai confidence - mayb e even minutes off the bench either late in the season or in pre-season. Maybe we can find our '3rd striker' ?
