Two of my favourite non Spurs players to watch this season. Play in positions we need strengthening i.e. out and out attacking mid (Zaha) who can terrify defenders with is pace and skill and deep lying ball player (currently playing like a cross between Pirlo and Hoddle) in Shelvey.

Who would take them or if either which?

No. Zaha has no end product (or very little) and Shelvey doesn’t work as hard as Pochettino would require.

Good points, although seem to have taken a step to the next level this season... they should both be in the England squad for sure.. Southgate made a mistake in not tying Zaha to England by not playing him at senior level before Ivory Coast got in there.

Both better than most of the dross in the current England squads.

I'd take both of them at the right price as they would improve our squad but can't see either of them being available for anything even close to decent value, Zaha especially

Shelvey has really improved this season, not just in our match but I've watched him this season and he's put together some top class performances, thibk he deserves to go to the World Cup personally but there's question marks about his temperament, he has received 2 red cards this campaign.

Shelvey can pick a pass, but he usually needs space and time, deny him that and he's pretty ineffective, he's not the quickest or most dynamic and discipline needs addressing.

Zaha...certainly need a player of this ilk. Yes we have Moura, but another option on the Left would be most welcome.

I keep reading posts questioning where another AM/Winger would fit in.

But then I read numerous posts asking why we can't break down some teams resolve.

A Zaha type is exactly what we need for these instances, somebody who is able to take a game by the scruff and do something out of the ordinary, a player capable of constantly posing a threat.

Zaha might not score hatfuls of goals or assist bucket-loads, but his footballing ability sees him have a massive impact and benefit his team.

If he were to add a few more assists and goals to his game, he'd remind me of Bale and his match winning performances, his consistency performance wise has certainly improved this season.

I'd be happy now, wasn't so bothered a few months back.

Zaha I think would be alright for us, but probably not worth the price. Shelvey would be a disaster. He constantly goes missing in games, doesn't track properly, there's a reason England don't want him even though they lack creative midfielders. The occasional good game or attacking play is nowhere near worth it.

I quite like the Dark Lord and he was mustard against us on Wednesday but he is a red card waiting to happen. Him n Serge in the same team would be heart attack material.

Shelvey wouldn’t suit our style of play at all. He is best at playing balls over the top of the defence and nobody sits that high up against us.

Zaha is best with space to run at isolated defenders. Not sure he’d be too effective faced with a parked bus.

I think Zaha might get us a few points. I'd be happy enough with signing him. He'll be expensive, but he's a good player. Everyone is expensive these days.

Shelvey can pick a pass, but he isn't Hoddle, Pirlo or Eriksen. Where would he play? He doesn't do what Dembele does for us, and he's the player we'll need to replace in the middle. Shelvey isn't the midfield beast that Wanyama was last season and that we hope he'll be again. Maybe he'll replace Fabregas at Chelsea and win a title with them, but he seems to be an occasionally good player in an average side and I'd be surprised if he became a success at a CL level club like us. Doesn't have the head, the lungs, or the heart.

Zaha should be on the radar of every team in the country right now, he has developed into a consistently top-class player and would be a definite starter for me in our side, ahead of Son.

Shelvey...na. There are things he does very well, but he's unreliable and doesn't have any of the mental components needed to be a top player. And even if Poch did somehow manage to force ideas into that thick head of Shelvey's, he doesn't have the physique to implement them properly. Can't really run.
