I like the idea of the Europa as long as until the last sixteen we leave the first 11 playing on the Sunday at home. Although I do hate having to go to the lane so frequently on a Sunday. I'd be happier with the Europa games being played on a Tuesday so we can watch football on a Saturday.

A case for a manager who has experience of the Europa (as opposed to 'just' the CL).

Could you elaborate? I'm not quite sure what you're suggesting Sir. I have as much managerial experience as Timothy.

And the first two responses tell all you need to know about Spurs fans
You enjoy the misery of us fucking up in the league because of the balls out effort it'll take us to get to the quarter final and go out.

The game is about glory. Yay.

No it shows that us fans now think the europa is below us. It's not. If managed right, it's our best chance of champions league football

Given winning the Europa league next year guarantees you a cl place I think he's spot on to say we're going to try to qualify for it. Easier than trying to get a spot through the league wouldn't you say?

I have said it before, as I am sure have others, if we can't compete or even get the squad used to playing at a high level twice in a week with Europa league, why do we deserve champions league footy on a regular basis? And as stated, it's a second way into the champions league.

I wonder what happens if the Europa league winners qualify for the champions league through their own league - does that place go to the losing finalist in Europa?

"I will be guaranteeing to our fans that I will be selecting a team that want to play for Tottenham in this last game and want to be playing in the Europa League next season."? so you are suggesting that some players don't want to play for Spurs!
it will be interesting to see his selection then and it will speak wonders for how he has been getting on with those that are not selected when they should be.

I think that is exactly what Sherwood is saying

I think that is exactly what Sherwood is saying...how can last week's performance tell him anything else?

Because there's less games in the CL and the fixture pattern is more forgiving for recovery times.
