The players that came in are quality. AVB was quality. There are things going on behind the scenes which are affecting the players and which we are not privy to.
But I'll bet one thing though. . . that Levy is at the heart of it.
I mean, who else would give someone with no managerial experience an 18 month contract and a @£200m squad ?

If by the end of the season our home form hasn't improved, there'll be a hell of a lot of people calling for Levy to step aside. He's done so much for us in terms of raising our profile and getting us at the right end of the table but this groundhog day manager sacking stuff has to come to an end at some point. We need to stick with a manager, preferably one that doesn't have to learn on the job.

Levy needs to get the next managerial appointment right or it could be the beginning of the end for him.

Remains to be seen. Tim is picking up the pieces, it'll take some time for any given manager to get team forbidden to play it quick or try a throughball to play football.
Picking up the pieces? We're out of a cup, sliding further down the table, playing 442 and he thinks he's the reincarnation of 'Arry.
If he'd stuck with 4231 or gone 4132 and significantly upped the tempo then I'd have faith, be marginally excited and impressed.
I fear he's not picking up the pieces he's just breaking more plates :(

He's said himself he's had no time to actually train the players due to the quickness of the fixtures schedule at the moment. Give him a chance! He knows today was a game we expect to win and he also knows Stoke is now must win.

I'll agree with this. It is only a couple of games and shit has happened quickly. A misstep was almost to be expected I guess. If he continues with the fluff midfield then yeah, kill him. Kill him before he lays eggs!

We'll know if he's a functioning moron soon enough if when he has Sandro, Kapow, Moose etc all fit and healthy he persists with his opening set-up. If he doesn't then we can relax a little eh?

I agree he should be given time but he knows himself you just don't get a lot of it Tim really needs to look and see that this season so far we have seen opposite ends of the scale watching our team.
Firstly we were too negative under avb and suffered now we are looking to open and are suffering from being too open so Tim somewhere in the middle is where we need to be.

Yep and it'll take more than one and a half weeks to do anything with the squad. So he is picking up the pieces, remains to be seen wether he can do anything with them. Ask me again in april.

As for being out of the cup, we progressed from last round via penalties against 2nd string side of Hull. Reckon there was any chance of success on that front the way we were playing?

The guy is an idiot, and AVB had his problems, he was to negative, TS is the complete polar.

He started the game today with no f-ing DM, a left wing that has been crap there all season (Siggy), left Lamela on the bench, despite being one of the better last time...

I think it's simpler than that, today we didn't look like a team. We'd lost all our disipline and looked disorganised. Freedom is great but it can also be a bad thing when you've got 11 players wanting freedom, you need restrictions to ensure we all work together. We had players tackling each other, running into each others space as well as the usual issues.

I would be more willing to give him time if he even deserved the chance to manage our club.

He has achieved nothing in management to be given a team that is struggling to find it's form in one of the most difficult leagues in the world.

I would for the sake of the club I love for Tim to prove me wrong but I just can't see how he's going to do it if the early signs are any indicator of how he wants us to play.

So who does deserve to be managing Spurs?
There couldn't of been any "top" managers who applied. Cause if they had then they would of been given the job. Supposedly rebuffed by LVG, De Boer and Laudrop.
Who would you have given the job to?

It's time for the players to accept some blame now. They are not putting in acceptable performances- it can't be all down to the manager.

That's fair enough but then why change the system of play to something the players aren't comfortable with?

the witch-hunting on Tim by our own fans is terribly awful... he started only 2 PL games, yet to lose, played our summer signings, played with 2 upfront and not yet lose a game and there were names and sticks called/threw at him... although he did not play with a DM, the fact is we did not lose from conceding too many a thrashing!

how can we doubt anyone who professed himself a man bleeding the club we love most? even if anyone took that as a PR stunt to win over Levy (although he said that after being appointed), unless he was shown outside The Emirates Stadium joking with some scums wankers, I really think we should give him some time..

Gimme a fucking break, today was absolute novice hour.

Yep, 180 minutes of PL footie and so many are in a total tailspin already.... and to be technical, with an unbeaten record in those 2 PL matches...

:wtf: seems a little OTT to me... :stop::playful:

Unbeaten.... Hahahahah funtastic!!! Against the mighty Sourhampton and West Broom.

We're going from bad to worse on here....

Next we will be saying that avoiding the drop is considered having a great season!
