Pound to a penny that it'll be sunshine and roses very quickly if the right man is appointed. Listen I'm not on the inside there but I think that things tend to be greatly exaggerated in football and the media will often exploit that.

I really hope you are correct mate. However I think we could be in a torrid summer with lots of players we would ideally want to keep trying their hardest to engineer moves away and I think this will be exacerbated if we decide to try to put Tim back into the background rather than removing his negative influence from the club totally.

Sean dyche (the burnley manager) said on the the sky fantasy football programme that he wouldn't sit in the stands because all the tactical work would have been done and prepared before the game and the players know what they are doing. Down in the technical area he can pick players up on things quickly in the game.

That's a championship manager saying that!

Makes me think that either we don't prepare tactically properly in the week or the players aren't carrying out the tactics properly for 1 reason or another. I suspect I know which it is.

I understand why a manager may want to start a match in the stands, as it gives them a better overall picture of how the game is going, however once you go behind the manager needs to come down to the technical area and try to affect any changes that need to be made in order to get you back into a game.

I won't expect success immediately...it's ridiculous to do so.
What I will expect, after 18 months of the new managers tenure, is some attractive football, and not being smashed by our direct rivals.
To be fair, you can't blame him too much for that Liverpool defeat. It was bad but our defence was Walker, Capoue, Dawson and Naughton IIRC and Paulinho got sent off early in the second half. Let's not forget how good they can be as well, they're up there for the title now so against the defence we put out it was always going to be a tough ask.

I do generally agree that he wasn't the man long term though. But that's not to say we shouldn't have given him the season to avoid more unnecessary disruption if anything. I'd sooner have him than Sherwood any day.

I don't make many posts but have been supporting THFC for nearly 40 years from across the Irish Sea. Only in recent years have I got across to matches and been able to bring my son, who is a "respected member" on here. Supporting Spurs is massive in both our lives and I like to think I will support the manager and team through thick and thin.

Recently, however, I cannot believe that we have this man in charge. I wanted to give him a chance because it got to the stage AVB had to go sooner or later. My last post was when Tim was appointed and it was about affording him the benefit of any doubt but everything he is doing is wrong. He is clearly out of his depth and I worry about the damage he is doing between now and the season's end. there is so much that he says that is unprofessional IMO but the the following is what annoys me most.

He said in January he needed no new players as we had a top squad. Two months later and he has slagged them off in public (Chelsea), had a go at Dembele and Paulinho quite publicly, decided to take a pop at Hoddle and sat up in the stands distancing himself from any responsibility with the performance on the pitch. His reason for sitting up there is that he has a lack of self control.

There is some substance and truth in the things he has said about the players (and Hoddle) but he shouldn't be saying it. I have managed a number of people over the years that frustrate me greatly but the last way to get them performing is to have a go at them in public.

To say yesterday that they shouldn't need motivating is absolutely laughable. Does he have any idea how human beings work? All those psychiatrists, psychologists and motivators around the world that are helping people just quit now as tim says they don't need it. Pure bollocks!
We have a fine squad - think of this team (without any additions) motivated properly in a coherent system that the players believe in and want to be part of:- (4,3,3)
Lloris, Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose, Sandro, Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela, Soldado, Holtby.

Get a proper leader in that will deal with players privately and support them completely in public, add 2 to 3 players in the key areas where we all know we are short and we are easily capable of challenging for the top of the table. Over the last few years we have beaten the top teams, despite what TS says and we can do it again with a motivated squad under the right boss.

rant over!

I think some sort of petition should be drawn up, on line or otherwise and sent direct to Daniel Levy

Dear Mr Levy
We, the supporters and life blood of this great club, cannot and will not accept this preposterous, ill spoken, inexperienced clown to manage our team beyond the end of the current season. A club of our standing, stature and history deserves better, and just as importantly, we, the fans deserve better.

Yours in expectation,

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters.

That one is difficult to call. Putting aside that I don't have any prejudices against Sherwood but do accept that this experiment hasn't worked, I'm not bothered if he goes back to his old job. I wonder whether he would want to though.

Bit of a hysterical lynch mob vibe in here .

Exactly why I'm here. I love this hysterical mob. If it moves on, can someone point me to the right thread please?

Am already salivating and sharpening my pitchfork in anticipation of "LVG out" this time next year.

Whilst I admire your dedication to the club, I really don't think DL does. Do you really think this will even get past the spam filter far less DL mailboy?

I have actually stopped and thought about this (for once) and I feel that it's wasted energy at this stage. We have 6 games left and even though I think theres a chance that Shitwood can upset a few more players, I feel that these guys will know that he's on borrowed time.

The only concern I have at this stage is if he's still at the club in another capacity as I feel that he would be in a position to undermine the next management team......or at least try. The new manager coming in needs to focus completely on getting these players playing as a unit and not spend the time looking over his shoulder for Shitwood's knife.

Shitwood said it himself, his performances/management will determine if he becomes a long term manager here at Spurs and I feel I can say with confidence he's not exactly passed

First season was the highest points haul ever for Spurs, and this season was a completely new squad that had major impacts on last season's players as well. Besides breaking a couple of records for Spurs, including the manager with the highest win ratio of any Spurs manager in the last century you'd think this would earn him tenure 'til end of the season. Attractive football doesn't happen without a system in place, which is exactly what AVB was putting together - with our gang of internationals, it was just taking a little time that ANY manager should've been afforded.

Played a high line Dawson and a makeshift defender against Suarez and Sterling, the worst thing is that he dropped the high line against Fulham and Sunderland after we got smashed by City...I think you can blame him.

Re planned protest for Monday. I saw this post on another site this evening......

London Live Radio just mentioned of a planned protest on Monday - arrive 5 mins before the game and leave 5 mins early.... difficult for some... we'll see. ?..
Most people do that anyway to catch the train. Protest sure, but do it in a way that'll actually make a difference. Leaving before the game's end is something I'm sure most fans do up and down the country week in, week out (I don't and will always stay until final whistle regardless).

Regarding this planned protest. I hope the group of protesters also voice their concern for TS and "his lackeys" staying as part of Spurs staffs next season - in any capacity. The likelihood of them undermining the future Head Coach is there.....for all to see with TS "Badmouthing" GH now and as was in 2003. Utterly unprofessional behaviour.

Pffft says "respected member", you're only a "well-known member".. No one respects you
I think maybe "respected" was too strong. He's certainly on here and I found myself reading his various posts for months before I found out it was him. He doesn't use some of that language in front of his mum.

I'm beginning to wonder if hiring Intertim Deadwood is part of a master plan by Levy to get all the fans behind the next manager.

Redknapp had lovers and haters> Lovers became AVB haters who also had lovers and haters> AVB haters started off as Intertim lovers but are slowly becoming indifferent/haters to join the rest of the fans> New manager can begin with a clean slate with a distinct lack of fans thinking the previous manager should still be in charge!
