Jesus, has there ever been a more openly disliked manager in charge of a team before??

Do agree with Lineker mind... there's more than an echo of Abramovich's interim appointment of Benitez in this. If Sherwood is caretaker manager then make it obvious rather than just leave him to hang. I'd be pissed off too.

It wasn't only the players letting him know.... I've written several letters to him, plus emails, and the flying pigeon.

Moyes towards the end, maybe

Nobody gets a long stay in the Spurs hotseat. Sherwood always knew he wouldn't last long, we all did. Would have taken Champions League football and even that would only get him to the first bump in the road next season. He'll be grateful of the payoff and decent results record but go away Tim. Spurs, in a league of their own when it comes to new ways to be ridiculous.

As much as I think he will, and should, be replaced, I cant help feeling a bit sorry for the guy, the way he is being sacked slowly, a little at a time, is getting painful to watch. :inpain:

Whatever the rights or wrongs of him being sacked, or even whether he should be, it is just not right that he appears not to have been told definitively. For a club that has more leaks than a 10 acre field of leeks, DL should have realised that would happen and dealt with it before it did.

Whilst he has got the club on to a very sound financial footing the man-management leaves a lot to be desired. FFS! :banghead:

Pfft. He was angling for the gig for ages. I hope he's enjoying every second of it.

Not his biggest fan but I do genuinely feel sorry for him. No-one deserves to get this much s**t week in week out.

The club needs to sort out its PR. Things have been kept dead quiet on the transfer front over recent times. Surely they can keep quiet about plans to sack him until the end of the season.

all of a sudden tim seems to be getting some sympathy for his treatment
why? he will get a large pay off for the outstanding year on his contract
when he should be paying the club money to compensate for the damage he has caused mainly in alienating many of the players to the extent that some appear to want away also fans are sick to the high teeth with his awful team selections
so dont feel sorry for a man that will get a bumper pay day for being a class one prat

What nobody is realising, in the press or amongst the fans, is that had Levy told Tim earlier that he was being sacked, Tim A) might have quit on the spot, leaving us in the lurch and embarassing the club, or B) might have taken his eye off the ball completely (Harry Style) leading to very poor results and league placement. Then there's option C) Tim actually then does very well and gets us into the CL while producing some great football (unlikely but always a possibility), leaving Levy to explain why he's sacked a huge success of a manager.

Like it or not, whether Tim is being sacked or not, this was the only way to do things.

I think its disgraceful whats being said about him. What it basically boils down to is his presentation skills and nothing else.

He has done very very well for us in the short time with us and unless we are getting a definite proven upgrade - NOT some suave corporate type from an inferior league/team - I would love for him to stay on with us.

So for those who disagree with the above post Im assuming your view is that he has not done well in spite of turning up one day and coaching a team of internationals with no preseason and doing a far far better job than AVB.

And you therefore prefer a suave corporate type from an inferior league/team?

Ajax inferior to Spurs, don't be silly! Do you think Tim's Spurs would defeat FdB's Ajax? Do you think Tim could win four titles on the spin in the Eredivisie?

What you don't get is that it is nothing to do with presentation, it is everything to do with substance.
