The bloke is lacking in so many area's to be a manager its embaressing how he was offered 2 big jobs!
Most have to earn that right in some manner but he must have the gift of the gab.
Still amuses me that there was quite the clammer for him to be given a lot more time at Spurs. Just imagine the state we would be in.

Totally agree with this. + he gets a £2m pay off? ... jesus.. what a life to work in Premiership football. He is an 80's manager with just talks like the local cockney has been in the pub. What anyone saw in this guy to be a manager is beyond me !

More band wagon hopping than a Spaghetti Western.

He can do a good job with decent players (hence win ratio with us) and showed with us he can develop young players as a coach. He's just a gobsite and is tactically naive at times. Wouldn't want him here due to that, but can imagine at a club equivalent to the Crazy Gang with a decent batch of young players coming through he could do well. Needs to drop down a division or two, at a club with decent board and progress from there like Nigel Cough/Ferguson Jnr IMO.

Given he served us well more or less, I wish him well personally.

Had he been given longer with us i would have put my house on that his win percentage (please it was half a season) would have dropped a hell of a lot more. add to the fact he didnt rate hardly anybody in our team we would of ended up with a load of shite like he bought at Villa.

Yes credit to him for giving Bentaleb & Kane a go but thats about it.
I agree he needs to drop down a division or 2 if he ever wants to become a better manager but his ego wont allow that to happen. He will no doubt be given another Prem job by some desperate club, he is probably gutted Fat Sam arrived two weeks early.

This.

I'd love to see how Jose gets on at Villa when chelsea sack him!

The problem with English football media experts is that they don't call out former players like Tim Sherwood because they want the access he gives or allows for a select view. It has always been that way and won't change in the near future.

For someone who kept quoting his win percentage at Spurs he was very quiet it about it of late. Why has no journalist asked him about it?

He accepted the job at Villa Park and knew the conditions he had to operate under, so why are they now an issue? Why not turn down the job in the first place? He is not the only manager to complain after the fact, but I would have more respect if one declined the job in the first place.

I have worked with great youth coaches and staff down the years and they like TS get young players to buy in to the idea they can become stars. What young player is not going to listen to an EPL winner who has a role in their development or can shape their future? I know I did at the same stage. A different skill set is required to keep those players onside once he steps up a level. The fun attitude at youth level needs to be replaced by tactical and professional pragmatism at first team level. Players see through the tactical ineptitude that does not get exposed at the lower level.

I knew one player who loved his coaching staff at club and international level and thought they were the best he had worked with in the game. He put them on a pedestal. He signed for Mourinho and then found out what real coaching and management was like and changed his perception of his old bosses.

Keep in mind, for every Harry Kane that is brought through there are 1000's of Shaun Murray's, Pat Corbett's, Ally Dicks and Mark Yeates who fall by the way side and fail to fulfill their potential. Coaches like TS only want to take the credit for the ones that come through. The better youth coaches are interested in what is best for the club not their own resume and PR.

TS also had Adebayor's corner when he trained on his own. It happens at clubs all the time. It was a mutually beneficial situation, but why then did Ade not sign for Villa and link up with him again?

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are two of the greatest clubs in the history of English football and Tim Sherwood is lucky to have managed both.

Apparently, Tim's win percentage at Villa was 26%. Shurely shome mishtake?
I know this is a difficult time for some of you, and my heart really doesn't go out to you, but as El Poch would say, this is football!
Yeah, sink the boot in when a guy is down........

It just disgusts me how some members on here seem to thrive on ex Spurs players or managers getting fired. Sad, sad people IMHO. Far more interesting to mix with positive people as life is so much more fun.

Never ceases to amaze me how these morons in the media, AD on TS this afternoon, do not understand why none of these managers walk away from a shit job.
That bell end said this afternoon 'If its such a poor job then walk away. I can't understand why you would stay.'
Can't you?? Really??? I can think of a few million reasons.
Our prisons are filled with thieves and murderers serving years and years behind bars for trying to get their hands on £1000s, £100s, shit even as little as loose fkin change on occasion and yet all these people have to do is not hand in a resignation to swan off with a few million quid!!!
I don't care how rich you are, nobody walks away from an easy few million.
Apparently Dwight York would like the job. I'll bet he fkin would. Worst case scenario you become a multi millionaire. .. again.
Poor PL managers :(

His level was bringing on the youngsters when he was with us. As soon as he got the Manager's job he became Billy Big Bollocks and said he wanted to run the whole thing his way and that he wouldn't drop back down to where he was. Unfortunately for him it was a classic case of 'Promotion to Level of Incompetence'. He rode his luck for a while at Spurs but got found out very quickly at Villa. I don't think he has the man management skills to do the job. Even Adebayor wouldn't go there.

He's a fcuking tosser and charlatan.
As long as he's peddling his bullshit elsewhere rather than here I'm happy positive ;)

Tim's time machine transported him back to the Seventies. It was New York, Studio 54, Bianca Jagger just rode in on a white horse, the disco music was pumping, and on the dance floor there was one man jivin'....

£2m severance package on top of stealing wages for the past 6 months? Fuck me. I chose the wrong career path.

Hey Randy Lerner, if you read this. I'd be willing to manage Villa for £5k/wk on a 3 year contract, rising to £10k when i keep you up and a £1m severance package in 6 months. I can guarantee you I wont be worse than Sherwood. Lmk.(y)
