He is in poor form but we simply need to keep playing him back into form imo.
What has form got to do with the fact that his sprint speed is down 30%?
the fact that he barely sprints during a game?
the fact that he never gets into the positions he used to to shoot?

Those problems are linked to exhaustion not form.

Playing him more isn't going to help.

I disagree - I think he is just in poor form. The exhaustion argument is just a red herring in my honest opinion.

So how do you explain his top speed since injury dropping from 34kph to 25kph?

What would that have to do with exhaustion either? Clearly his injury has nulified some of his pace to a degree - something that hopefully will recover over time. It is not exhaustion - he was running all over the place last night and doing a great job particularly in the second half for the team. The reason he failed to score was a lack of sharpness and form, not due to anything else.

That has everything to do with exhaustion.
Just like a marathon runner trying to sprint at the end of a race, i tell you now a Marathon runner would be faster at the start of the race.

He has been through the mill for three years non stop (we warned the FA about taking him to the tournoi) and now just has nothing in the tank.

Honestly has he played more than other comparible players? I don't think he has. I really do think this is just Kane in poor form.

I think the stats show that over the past three years, he has played more than most, the exception being last season, mainly due to injury.

But i can't just gloss over the fact that he can't physically run as fast as he could.

that's why he got into those positions to have all those shots.

How can form change that?

He's obviously mentally and physically fatigued, anyone can see that, I think more mentally though, guy needs a break from football.

I hate using the old Poch knows best argument killer but in this case you have to trust in Poch and the coaching staff. They have all the info available that we don’t and they’ll judge it in training.

Hand on heart do you have the same amount of trust in Poch as you did at the beginning of the season?

More or less.

Perhaps it’s been shaken a little bit and I don’t really trust him at all with transfers to be honest but on things like this I trust him as much now as I did before.

Theres probably a physical and mental blend to Kane’s recent poor form to be honest...

Physical Fatigue - Pretty good shout, guy plays 50 games a season for Spurs, then goes straight off to a World Cup, gets to a semi final, he has had something crazy like 1 summer off in the last 5 years! Baring in mind as well that him and Kate recently had another child...who’s to say Kane is even getting a full night’s rest at the moment?

Mental Fatigue - Another plausible factor, having to carry a nation on his back all summer as captain, and having to constantly deal with people putting him down and picking holes in him must be exhausting, then having to constantly chase these records and taking that next step...

I think he needs a few games off...start Son up front vs Brighton and leave him out all together. Go with Llorente up front vs Watford in the League Cup, then Son up front vs Huddersfield but bring him back to the bench, maybe come on at 60/70mins...
Also think he should sit out the next international break too, think Southgate owes him a break after everything Kane has done for him

I still can't believe he played for England twice during the international break. For Gareth Southgates vanity project. Absolutely absurd.

Nothing wrong about playing for his national team in a competitive match, the only absurd thing was playing in the friendly when it was needless.

i would not drop Harry IF Harry was against being rested.

He signed a new contract when the whole world was trying to sell him

Loyalty comes two ways....if he says he is ok then we should trust him for now, if he continues to struggle than i would change how i feel, but for now he deserves our FULL backing.

The also are judging it by the fact the only other striker is Llorente and they may consider a fucked and slow Kane still a better option.

Got to be Kane's last chance today to prove what he says in that he is sharp and fit. We just can't keep playing him if nothing is changing.
If he's shit again today Poch needs to earn his corn and make some changes otherwise our season will evaporate quickly.

To be fair I don’t think most people who think he should be rested think we should play Llorente I believe the thinking is to play Son up top.

Imo I think Kane did quite well against Inter. Could’ve done better with that chance in the first half but he worked hard.

I agree re Son, not a great fan as he is extremely hit and miss but at the moment we need some fluidity and lively play up front and Son, Moura, Lamela are more appealing to me. Poch may see it differently.

Personally I thought Kane was dire against Inter. Slow and lumbering as he has been for a while now. His closing down is now pretty pedestrian as well.
