Sissoko is a good squad player for Spurs even though he appears more laid more laid back than a deck chair in some performances. Some of the criticism about him is justified but he is becoming a bit of a whipping boy with some supporters which is unfair. Most Premiership sides have worse squad players than Sissoko.

This has to be some kind of clever strategy Play from Poch here, cause he’s intelligent enough to see that the guy is not a high end footballer, surely!
Maybe, just maybe, that isn't what he thinks, so you'll just have to accept it and lie down to some whale song. And don't call me Shirley.

Poch sees aspects of the game that we don't. If Poch didn't like him he wouldn't play him.

I would suggest that so many informed spurs fans having so many doubts about so many deficits means that there's more than just instinct regarding said player in this very long sentence.

There is absolutely no logic in playing him other than you like shit players that give the ball away and have no first touch whatsoever. Cigarette? Yes I know.

You're right, there's absolutely no logic in what you wrote, but that's not important right now.

I don't think hate is the word I'd use about Sissoko. He is, imo our poorest performing player! I'm not sure many people could disagree with that fact!

Even though someone like Ali is having a poor season, that is by his own standards, ones that he set last year. He is a quality player and has shown that in our colours.

Sissoko has been poor since he arrived, yet we use him over players that simply perform better!

I am sorry, I would normally back Poch on matters like this but he is completely wrong in his assessment of Sissoko.

I don’t think it is any surprise that the one game we reintroduce him into the squad again we look poor, he just slows us down and clogs up the centre of the pitch.

I feel like everybody but Poch can see it, from the fans and the media and that’s a problem in itself right there.

Sissoko is shit, he will never be good enough for a team that is trying to push for top 4 or win the league, personally I don’t even believe he is good enough to be in the premiership but that’s just my opinion.

A few weeks back he was showing signs of slight improvement and I thought he might be turning a corner somewhat but honestly he has reverted to type again, I don’t know why some people have the blinkers on for him but then I remind myself about some of the shit players we have had over the years and how they also always had people defending them.

I think people are reaching if they believe this is Poch playing games or trying to set him up for a sale, you are giving him far too much credit on that one I am afraid, this stubbornness he is exhibiting will likely be the downfall of him, I love Poch but this is probably his biggest flaw and it is something that needs rectifying in the long term if he is going to lead us to success in the future (which I hope he does because he has been the best manager in my lifetime at least.)

Relax guys. This is standard fare for a manager wanting to get rid of one of his terrible mistakes. He's got to get the valuation up as much as he can to get a sale done, so yeah...er...Sissoko is one of our most highly valid players and is worth a fortune to us.

Thanks for your clearly well-thought out contribution. Send your CV to Daniel Levy asap. Who knew that a great manager was hiding in SC?

He's got rid of other players without doing this, though. How does that fit with your hypothesis? And, given that he says that he has had to change his own preconception of him, do you still think that Poch was the driver behind the purchase?

I think all of you who think Poch has made a mistake should congregate on Hotspur Way and voice your opinions as he comes in to work. I'll pop over to see him tell you where to put your opinions.

Er...no and I never did. I was just trying to put a humorous slant on the subject. Christ, lighten up mate.

No chance you might be missing something?

No chance at all?

Even a smidgen?

:D

I will admit I was wrong about Wanyama, majorly wrong and have been wrong about Poch in the past.

However, I truly do believe that Sissoko will never be anything more than an average player, obviously it would only benefit us if I am wrong but nothing he has done since joining us has shown me otherwise.

Come on mate, why are you taking this so personally? I am not claiming to have the credentials to manage a football team but just because I am not a manager does not mean I am incapable of having an opinion about a player and it does not mean Poch is some perfect human being that is incapable of making mistakes.

He is wrong about Sissoko imo, he will never be a good footballer and I think Poch and his ego are getting in the way of his logic here.
