Tottenham's Champions League hopes have been hit with a huge blow with the news that Moussa Sissoko looks likely to miss the semi-final first leg against Ajax.

Ideal world would be to win this leg with a clean sheet.
Going to be tough without three of our brightest stars this season.
Likely 5 at the back as the league fixture with City with hopefully Winks fit?

Shit. Oh well as long as Dier or Wanyama are ok we should still have too much for them. I'm confident we'll get the job done.

It's all about that clean sheet. If we can achieve that, I'm convinced we'll be fine in the 2nd leg IF we get some of our walking wounded back (not that I've seen anything of Ajax & really am in no place to come to that conclusion).

Llorente
Alli - Moura - Son
Eriksen
Wanayama
Rose - Vertoghen - Toby - Trippier
Gazzaniga

I think this top team will get the job done against Brighton West Ham and Ajax

Son can't play in the first leg Vs Ajax

Personally, I'd bite the bullet and put Dier in there and move Eriksen to Son's position Vs Ajax.

Against the PL teams I'd be tempted to drop Eriksen to the bench, but that would be a very difficult decision to make.

Or, we could drop Llorente Vs PL teams and move Son to centre forward, with Eriksen behind?

I actually think Llorente can be very useful against mid table / lower table PL teams. He can hold the ball up and bring our pacey players into the game. He offers a genuine goal threat because of aerial ability (we are in the CL semi because of him!!). Against teams who "park the bus" its an alternative dimension that will give them something else to think about.

I think we are ok. Shame about Moussa but Wanayama coming back at the right time. He seemed to be up to match fitness in the last few games.

Sonny not in the first leg another blow but again I think we have guys who can step in.

Not so long ago a lot on here would be cheering at this headline. What a fantastic turnaround by the man!

Clean sheet is so important in the first leg. Knowing the second leg we will have Sissoko and Son back will be a huge boost but we need to make sure we take an advantage into it.

Dier/Wanyama was a horrible CM combo imo, even when both were fully fit.
Unless youre of the view that one of them can shield the defence alone (Fernandinho style) then im not sure we have many better options at the moment.
