“I knew he was going to be a top player, and I’m sure he’ll settle back in at Tottenham and have a good season next year."

Oohhhh. How controversial!

It's amazing how one throw-away comment Redknapp made about Pavlyuchenko (and even then we don't know if he actually said that) is still used against him.

As usual, it's Harry answering questions rather than him holding a press conference to talk about how he thinks Vertonghen might be feeling.

A classy person would have said something like this "To be fair, im not the Head Coach of Spurs anymore and presently i do not know what is going on in at N17, so its not fair for me to comment anything about Spurs now or in the future, as long as i'm the Head Coach of QPR".....

This is one or the reasons I didn't want Saggy Chops back in the Prem, he concerns himself too much with other clubs and thinks he owes us something by constantly talking about us.

So what - who the fuck even cares!

no idea if what you said was anyway shape or form was appropriate, relevant, harsh, fair, correct or even valid, because I cant stop laughing at "Saggy chops" genius"

Thanks you have made my day all I can think of is the Churchill dog now.

I agree, one minute he thinks he's going (if Sherwood stays) then he's staying (because Sherwood is sacked)

Poor Jan doesn't know where he is.

Stop the madness!

I think we'll see a different Jan in a coached side.

For all the broken promises to Vertoghen about where he would play, I guess at the end of the day, we have on occasion seen the real Vertonghen and he is of champion league class, if not world class, and does not belong at an europa level team.
We can't blame him if he wants an upgrade.

Verts didn't like filling in at left-back when the situation ought to have been solved before. There's a very good LB who plays for Bosnia, but grew up and was trained in Germany. He's called Sead Kolasinac. In fact, I think we should have an academy in Bosnia as there are some very skillful youngsters there.

Maybe he cannot help himself but he's not wrong is he

no he isnt wrong, but whats it got to do with him? even if asked he could just say ''nothing to do with me''

Do you think when harry was tracking him he said, Oi Vertie me ole son, we want you here at spurs, you'll be captain and we'll be adding to quality to the squad to improve, were really going to go places, this is the club you need my son, oh and i'll do one if England come calling and you'll be in the same position you are now''

Jan should just keep his head down, work hard and do his best for the manager and the club. he knows football can chance in a second, managers come and go, Players are a bit soft nowadays with their feelings being hurt all the time. Players think the are so special but its players that make a club special

The other thing about that ill-advised comment that people consistently miss, often wilfully, is that it was nothing to do with 'tactics'. He was trying to make a joke about the language barrier.

His point was that he couldn't give Pavlyuchenko any proper tactical advice because Pav couldn't speak English. He had to throw him onto the pitch on short notice and presumably there wasn't a Russian/English interpreter conveniently to hand.

he never has and never will, he loves it and the media loves it

How would melt face know anything about Vertonghen? He was canned before we signed Jan
@14/04/91 @davidmatzdorf & @eurodat. Jan was signed a month after Harry was fired, Jan wouldn't be call up Harry bemoaning Spurs so he does not have a clue.

It's just a washed up old man who can't accept that he was fired for showing a lot of leg to the FA (among other things) sticking his nose where it does not belong.

Perhaps he just can't help himself. Same as them that put the boot in every single time he opens his mouth.

Mr "H"

Putting the boot in?

Fuck off back in ITK...............:bag:

Same "washed up old man" who managed Spurs to two top four finishes and a CL QF. In fact our most successful manager in Spurs PL history.

Abso-bloody-lutely! I gave you a medal to counteract whichever hijo de puta gave you a spam rating. It's one of the constants of life: the Redknapp clan (including John Bond) proclaiming a lack of bitterness about the Spurs tenure and the England job while at the same time oozing it from every pore.

Very very poor Sir and typical of the stereotypically fickle Spurs fan that we are all supposed to be.

Yeah you're right, fourth place is success and I loved seeing that bus going down Tottenham High Road parading the fourth place trophy and all those fourth place medals, it was such a happy day and I was so full of pride.

He's so much more successful than Bill and Keith isn't he?
