About bloody time. BT Sports did a number on them and yet we still pay out like we get the same service. I have the Sports package and still have to pay BT on top as well as Premier Sports for a few Irish games. Won't be surprised if there's a sting in the tail though.

I wish you could subscribe to all games of one club - home and away. I'd happily pay £10-15 a month to watch every Spurs game on HD.

I'm happy with the Sky service overall and won't switch to another TV provider but it's about time they tried something different. I hope their football (bar MNF) coverage is next.

I wouldn't be surprised if the price of the full package doesn't come down by much, if at all. We'll see I suppose. I'd happily take just the football and cricket channels.

The problem with that is that we'd end up with a situation like in Spain where the top teams get the lion's share of the money.

I think the crackdown on Kodi will send some people back and this will also help
This is the sole reason they've introduced this, Sky actually announced this a while back and it was mentioned briefly in the Kodi thread.
Their aging business model has been in dire need of a shakeup for years, and it's only because they've seen a dip in subscriptions theyve done this.
They're pretty much behind the crackdown on Kodi themselves.
About fucking time too.

Yep and it's the last thing I'd expect to see the Premier League offer....when Man U realise that 25% of the viewers are watching their matches they'll want 25% of the TV deal...the only reason our league is so popular abroad is because of the relative strength of the bottom half clubs, this would cripple most of them if it ever happened and we'd be no different to Spain.

Liverpool owners have already said that they should get a bigger slice.

Not surprised tbh, If it ever gets changed more than slightly we might as well all pack up and fuck off home.
They already have a vastly greater income than the majority of the league so I hope they got told where to go.

It will take the votes of 14 out of the 20 premierleague teams to change it. Only utd and liverpool are likely too. City and chelsea know it would give them an advantage so would probably vote no.

Scandinavian/Swedish provider Viasat moved to this model a few years back. Set up channels based on sports rather than numbers (They kept sports 2 just for the hell of it and as an extra channel for stuff like championships) and put together a very good online service called Viaplay and I am super content.

I pay the equivalent of 40 pounds every month for their biggest package, which is all the shows on their non sports channels, movies and the Premier League, Serie A, Lique 1, La Liga, Eredivesie, FA Cup, League cup, some internationals, rugby six nations, formula 1, NHL, NFL, UFC, boxing etc. And every game I can't catch live I have on VOD for 48 hours after the game ends.

I also have access to it from my computer, my playstation, phone, tablet etc and I can run it on two units at the same time. So I can dual wield games if need be.

Based off of my own experiences if Sky moves to anything similar to that I think it will end up good for them.

I think I'd just take the football and then wait till the ashes come on and then take the cricket. I suspect it will be for a year.

Wonder what will happen to existing subscribers though. It must be for everyone else you could just leave them then rejoin.

I just cancelled Sky and they offered me 60% of the full package. Happens every year.
