So how will Bale do in Madrid?

I think it will be a slow start for him and I doubt he will immediately be a first choice starter. He always seems to be a popular lad though so I would think he'd win over the rest of the squad eventually and then really kick on in the 2nd half of the season.

I choose to believe his agent has been directing him recently and although he didn't have to go along with the non-appearances I don't really care now that we've bought half a new team. Good luck to him, I hope he stays there for years and doesn't slope off to Manyoo in a few seasons only to come back and score against us.

I wish him well, it has been a pleasure watching him here and he has been a huge part of us moving forwards as a club.

For the fee, he has to be as good as Ronaldo, I just can't see that. And as someone has already said here, the Real fans will never love him as much as we did.

I wrote this post days ago and before the Bale to Madrid stuff was intense. So sorry if it reads like it was written at different times.

I was going to create a thread but thought fuck use this instead but imo Bale is a idiot to go right now to there

We would be stupid to let Bale go and not put a sell on clause(if he is sold to a PL club) or a buy back clause, as I think he wont be there for long. Both Messi and Ronaldo need to know they are no.1 and at Barca publicly they have said that he is still no.1 and etc. It also worth noting that Neymar has also said that Messi is the captain of the ship and I am looking to learn. Then the fee of €50mill is fuck all compared to Messi's estimated fee.

Now you would think the same thing would happen at Madrid, , No and its worse. They have a star who is the worlds most expensive transfer, a guy who scored a goal a game and some feel is the best footballer in the world at the moment. Now Madrid have a major issue in that Ronaldo, who they claim is the worlds best footballer has only two years left on his contract and the news should how he isn't signing a new contract. It however isnt and even when the Madrid mouthpiece said he signed a contract, he made it more than clear that he didnt sign and wasnt close to signing it. It has been said Ronaldo wants to feel like the best player in the world like Madrid say and wants a contract to match.

It also has been said that the madrid dressing room despite saying it in public are unhappy with the obsession with Bale and dont feel he is needed. Ronaldo wasn't even welcoming when asked about Bale with this tidbit:
"I'm not qualified to talk about new players, but I'm very happy with the players the team already has.
In terms of the transfer fee, you should speak to the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and president [Florentino Perez] about that. I have my opinion, but I'm not going to reveal it in front of the cameras."
Now it also worth noting that when Mourinho had left that Ronaldo was said to be his happiest during his career at Madrid and seemed like he was going to sign that contract now. However the fact Madrid are happy to spend that money they claim have, on Bale instead of his contract, is not going make him happy.

Carragher and Neville were talking in their season preview on Bale and said he shouldn't go this season as he isn't a strong enough character to go yet. They said he slowly getting that arrogance a world best footballer has but if he goes now that the dressing may eat alive especially after only having one good season at Madrid. Even more so that Ronaldo wants to be the main man at Madrid and at the moment doesn't feel and I think he feels if the team was built around he could get even better imo as he hasn't got the shackles of Mourinho holding in back and etc.

The fact Bale is said to be family man and still goes to Cardiff alot and is considered a good boy imo will make it even harder to adapt. Especially since he is british and the record of brits going abroad and still being successful and happy isn't great. Don't get me wrong he may be a great success but I cant see it being as great as he thinks it will and people say he wants to play with his Idol. However I don't think Ronaldo will be very welcoming especially since he is desperate to win the CL for the fans and be the only major star doing it.

Don't get me wrong alot of this is opinion and stuff from reports but I think this could end in tears and even worse. I can see Bale playing for another team in the premier league in the too future if he were to go to Madrid. Even worse potentially for Madrid, is that like Barcelona they haven't exactly strengthened their defence which is susceptible to be torn apart.

Now this was written before the events of the last two weeks and more stuff has happened, firstly bale it seems has been advised by his agents(who apparently in the last year of looking after him) that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it may not come again. Which is clearly bullshit imo as he hasnt even proved he is good enough in the first place imo, dont get me wrong great player but he isn't better than Ronaldo or even near Ronaldo when he left imo. He has then not turned up to training and for me it says he has gone to the point of no return, its interesting that he hasnt submitted a transfer request but hasnt turned up to training. That would mean that he isnt forfeiting his loyalty bonus. Its clear his agent is a scummy basterd who told Bale to make it clear that he was going Spain on the weekend and then walk around town and get photo'd to highlight that you arent at training.

Now back to the spanish side of the things is that it has been said before that the attacking players have said they dont want to leave madrid in order to keep their place and not get Bale. Then Di Maria said that Ronaldo has told the club, they shouldnt get rid of Di Maria, which again makes it sound like Bale isn't wanted by either. Then there are reports that the bid has been lowered so that it hasnt beaten ronaldo's record of £80million. Which then suggests Ronaldo needs to be the top dog there. If or when this does go wrong, I just hope we will see Bale back with us and not with Arsenal, Chelsea or United tbh.

That is my poorly written shit take on things, I cant be asked to proof read it as too long and I dont care anymore:cry:

He'll smash it because he is fucking unbelievable.

For us he was THE man, teams set up to solely to stop him and would double up on him. At Madrid they can't do that. They can't afford to double up on Bale because there's Ronaldo and Ozil/Isco as well.

I still think he should have stayed another year, as that would have given him the chance to master the RW, but I still think he'll be a success.

There will obviously be plenty of pressure early on but I think he's good enough and strong enough to handle it. I hope he makes an immediate impact by tearing up defenses and banging in a few goals early on. If he can develop a good on-field understanding with other players then he'll be fine, so I'll predict that he will form an amazing and deadly partnership with Ronaldo that will win them trophies for a couple of seasons.

In the meantime, however, Spurs will dominate in England and face Real in the 2014-15 CL final. Spurs fans will welcome Bale, who can only watch the game due to a mysterious injury, so warmly that he'll cry his eyes out. At then end of a closely fought 2-1 Spurs victory, Bale will head straight to AVB, they will embrace (and maybe kiss a little bit) and whisper, "holy mackerel boyo, it worked!". That summer he will push for a return to the lane, triggering a Levy clause in his contract that enables us to get him on a free as long as AVB shaves his head and face beard. It was all part of an elaborate plan by Levy who always had a problem with elaborate Barnets (think about it - hudd, BAE, LEE).

Ronaldo will see that his heart has been blackened over the years. He will see out his contract and leave Real on a free and make a shock move to London Road, Peterborough. A recurring scrotal injury will force him into early retirement and he will drop off the grid for decades, only ever cropping up in rumours of charitable humanitarian work in the poorest, most desperate places in the world.

bale will get better at madrid, no doubt. may end up, pound for pound, best footballer there's ever been.

it's all down to mentality, really. he may well end up surpassing ronaldo for the simple reason, he's not a cocky prick.

ronaldo will end up in a stupid league for stupid wages.

He's not going to be in a position to succeed right off the bat. No real pre-season, a world record bid, and a not particularly welcoming C Ronaldo will likely put heaps of pressure on him. I'm also not too sure if he has the personality to play the politics going on at Real Madrid. That being said, he always seemed like a popular member of the squad here so if he picks up Spanish quickly then perhaps he can pull it off.

It's a shame, he was epic for us, and he could have stayed and helped push us forward and been legendary. Instead he'll be just another good player who took the easy route. I understand the appeal of Real Madrid, and I don't begrudge Bale's choice, but he has missed the chance to be special which is disappointing. Something I really admire about Gerrard.

He's not going to surpass Ronaldo....and he's certainly not going to surpass Messi.

I reckon he'll do ok. Don't think he'll out do Ronaldo, but being second only to Ronaldo at Real Madrid is a massive success if you ask me.

I like to think that he'll either become integral to them, or... he'll do a Keane and come back to us in a couple of seasons after his dream move wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

We built the team around him, I don't think Madrid will. If he plays a free role like he did for us then he will do well, of he is stuck out on the left wing it will be a disaster. He can obviously play there but he'll get much less goals and the fans will be on his back. I wish him well but it would be funny if we won the prem and the CL and he won nothing.

Back in the premiership within 3 years tail between his legs. sold for a third of the price we received.

My other scenario. RM forced to sell due to debts. Sold for a third of the price we received.

All depends on Bale's attitude and assimilation
in to Real. The guy has quality but is still
pretty limited.
He will have to continue improving
or else he will be the most expensive
flop of all time.
Fantastic bit of business by Spurs and Levy
in particular ,he has sold Madrid an illusion
of greatness .

He'll do fine, La Liga is massively overrated in my opinion, I can see him score 20 or more this season. And even though I don't like Real Madrid at all, they have a pretty decent team don't they...

The lack of pre-season will really hurt him. That's probably why he's so pissed off.

Once fit he'll be immense.

15 goals tops this season I think - which most will consider a underachievement given his price tag; and quite rightly so.

Does he have the capability to dominate in la liga? Yes - we know that.

It's all about the freedom Ancelotti will bestow upon him. Free role? Great, he'll be fine.

Stick him on the left - he'll still impress, plenty of assists and dribbles to keep the fans drooling Im sure, but this will be at the expense of his goals tally. It was his goals last year for spurs that propelled him onto this platform to begin with - so I can't see that appeasing fans.

I think he'll be sold within 3/4 years and most certainly be back in the uk. We know what he can do if given the right directions / role within the team. Spurs should definitely negotiate a first refusal clause when sold to madrid - id happily have him back.

He's got all the qualities to succeed but he'll have to get used to everyone looking to give the ball to Ronaldo first instead of him. Pressure could get to him too but if he plays consistently he could ruin most defences in that league with ease.
