In his world he is Prime Minister, football manager, film star and generally Superman. In the real world he is just the deluded fool he always was. Get back in your hole Judas and come out again in another hundred years.

so sol has to submit his application for the job of manager
one of the questions on his application is "please name in order your greatest achievements and how they wiil help you be able to manage a club"
sol writes well I lied to the fans for 2 years also I lied to my fellow players for 2years and then I lied to the chairman and manager for 2 years I believe this will enable me to gain the trust of my new employers and team
everyone knows that I could have come clean and said from the outset that I was moving on a bosman but wheres the fun in that

players like myself will get immediate respect from all and sundry
as proved by sky who are pushing to make me one of there pundits

Enormously egotistical, but he has an endearing quality to him that means you really can't help but like him...

We are talking about Chris Eubanks here aren't we?

Sol Campbell talks shit because that's what he's full of.

Gary Mabbutt would not be pricking his groin to test his blood-sugar levels. Diabetics prick their fingers to test.

Its unlikely he would have injected himself there either, insulin is best absorbed in fatty tissues, not muscle.

Don't forget convincing Wenger that he wanted to play abroad, then rolled up at Portsmouth a few weeks later (technically, it is overseas).

And it wouldn't be right to ignore the valiant gesture he made, signing for Notts County who had big plans, then walked after one awful, awful match.

Or sued Pompey for 1m when they were in administration for some image right stuff. I think the irony was lost on the fat bastard

Most clickbaity thread in the existence of SC... No offense OP, just bound to get a surge of responses this one.

I genuinely think he has mental health issues though, its actually quite concerning. I think he massively under-estimated the impact of his decision to go to Arsenal, and the cowardly way he did it, and wasn't prepared for the violence of the vitriol he got for it. I think it broke his mentality.

still a **** tho...

Nailed it.

In some way's his situation could be compared to Gazza - former pro of... *grits teeth* exceptional quality *shivers* ...shows signs of eccentricity, so the media are ready to pounce on anything that they can poke him with to get a story. I am 100% convinced that a large portion of the stories we read from him are stoked hugely - it's very likely that this has grown from a reporter "friend" of his saying, "So, no plans to go into coaching then, Sol?" and he's mumbled something about how he'd considered it, cue plenty of "Ah, you'd be great mate, you'd be the balls, don't you think?", he agrees, et voila - story done. Keep gee'ing him up to get some more quotes and then roll it out as yet another "I'll be awesome" Campbell stories.

There were tales going around not so long ago of journo's leaving bottles of booze for Gazza to find, because him being sober isn't as headline grabbing as him in a drunken mess and mentally scrambled - Campbell isn't a story either, he's the opposite of relevant right now, but that won't stop a rag writer seeing an opportunity to take advantage of a mentally ill bloke for the sake of a story.

I'm half wanting him to realise and back the fuck out before they make a fool out of him when he inevitably finds out that he's not as great as he was convinced he'd be and, like an X-factor try-out who's mam said they sung like an angel but in truth sound like a lorry going over gravel, they'll shoot him down without mercy and leave him even more screwed up than before.

I agree

And what is really pissing me off is the soundbite they are playing on TalkSport at the moment of him saying how he would like to apologise for any hurt he caused spurs Fans but it was just a decision based on moving to a better team back then in order to win trophies.

F**k off you Disillusioned ****. The reason that I, along with most other Spurs fans I know despise you so much is not because you went over to the dark side, which was bad enough.

It was because running up to you pissing off, you were running down your contract so you could go on a free and trouser even more money. while telling all Spurs fans not to worry, you are Spurs through and through and that you would never think of leaving.

The vitriol is there because if you had cared so much about your 'beloved' Spurs, then you would have signed a new contract so at least there would have been some compensation to the team that you said you loved and that bought you through.

But No, you didn't give a toss. Just wanted the money!!!

Hope you rot in Hell.

Sol strikes me a bit simple. He obviously played FM2016 on easy, won and thinks he can transfer it to the real world. i can't for the life of me take him seriously, which is horribly conflicting as he was such a hero to me. The move was shitty but I'm mostly over it, the vast majority of players move and some just as badly as Sol, but since then he has done some truly wacky things.

To be fair FM doesn't have an easy Mode, and FM 16 was the hardest in a while so If he succeeded on there then fair Play to him

I fairness it doesn't say anything there about him asking to be involved. It's just talksport looking for clicks.
