Chrissy H has been saying this for years - get your badges, get involved, even at a local level with a grubby park league if you have to, just get into the game and show your skills and you will get noticed.

From what I understand, hasn't Campbell got his tickets? Didn't he pass them donkeys years ago, before his faculties started to leave his head-equipment?

Not sure he ever did them. If he did it's a bit better and this could be a way of helping out to get experience.

Chris Hughton isn’t just a great black Manager, he’s a great Manager. Putting race aside he has done things the way it should be done. Put the work in. I’ll always remember a trip I took to Cyprus to watch Ireland and seeing him just putting the cones out for the warm up thinking that should be beneath him. He didn’t have that attitude though. Took the coaching roles, took the assistant roles and took his chance when it came. Absolute respect for the man. Meanwhile others expect things to be handed to them.

We played them a few times. This one was in Nicosia. I met him at a kit launch in the Spurs Shop. Rumour was there would be Spurs players there but it was Hughton, long after his playing days. Asked him to sign my shirt, he did after I persuaded him he wasn’t ruining it!

FA better pray he does an amazing job. Good luck sacking or releasing him without more bullshit.Nice to know in life you no longer have to work hard. Just have money and moan every couple of months about how you are poorly treated for <insert excuse> and some idiot will give you a job under a directive that buries people from the same background who are FAR better qualified

It was all going so well.

Sol Campbell 'earmarked' to work with England Under-21 team - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45730544

Interesting. It seems to be a bit like work experience rather than a proper job. Terry Connor gets to help out in October when the U21s have two important qualification matches while Campbell will be helping out in November when the U21s don't seem to have any fixtures at all :ROFLMAO:

That's the thing - there are loads of brilliant BAME coaches out there. Coaches who have proved themselves at various different levels in the game and are deserving of more opportunities. Then you've got Campbell, who seems to have only gone for managerial rather than coaching jobs and who doesn't speak intelligently about football in his media appearances. What has Campbell done to leapfrog all of those that have put the time in and developed their coaching abilities?

Agree totally and to answer the bit in bold, played the race card and moaned constantly. His "but i'm Sol Campbell" outburst spoke volumes. Like he's looked at the likes of Barnes being fast tracked at Celtic, ignored all the factors surrounding the whys and just expects to be gifted a role without proving his worth or being remotely likable

….and he's in the running for...….. Macclesfield who are bottom of league two (below Notts County, how ironic). If it comes off it's second result I'll be looking for each week.

My local club where I grew up. Will be absolutely devastated if we hire him. Talk about a kick while we're down ffs. It's one thing going straight back down to the conference, but to do it with that **** at the helm really takes the biscuit.

Bring Incey back IMO. He saved us from a similar wsituation once before, and he isn't a complete ****. Even more ironic, that season we secured safety by beating the afformentioned Notts County

Yep and he was with us as assistant manager for YONKS before he got a look in as a number 1 somewhere.

Campbell seems to deem that beneath him being assistant to any mere mortal, for he is Sol Campbell.
