In all my years going to and watching football I can say this man is the only one that I hate with a vengeance.
Around the time of the betrayal I spoke to him at an event in Ally Pally and asked him "are you going or signing a new contract"
he looked me in the eyes as tho I was stupid and said "you can take it as gospel in the summer I will sign a new contract with spurs"
Well all I can say that I as certain as could be that a man of his character will do nothing but fail.
About the same time there was a T.V. programme called Smith and Jones and they used to do a skit where they sat at a table face to face doing there comedy.
We played that year in a semi final against Arsenal in the F.A. cup and it was the one that was the first Wembley semi final.
Leading up to the game Adams and Judas did a parody of the face to face Smith and Jones sketch and near the end Adams said to Judas "come and join us at Arsenal instead of signing for Spurs " if you could have seen the way Judas reacted you would have known as I did at that moment that it was all done and dusted he was gone.
I dislike myself for wishing someone bad but a person that lied to every Spurs fan plus fellow players plus manager and directors for 18 months can go to hell .

Apparently the missus saw him in the Co-Op on Saturday and didn't call him a ****.

The divorce papers are in the post.

Yeah but apart from all that he was one of the greatest players of his generation and Macclesfield are lucky to have someone with his vast experience

That’s without mentioning what a great leader he is and what strong ethics and morals he’ll bring to the club

In fairness, it was the Co-Op in a Cheshire village that's practically been taken over by footballers and the like over the past 20 years so I'm not sure it really counts as him slumming it! I've bumped into Coleen Rooney in there a few times, for example

Judas will only cause clubs to shy away from going down the ethnic route even tho we know race should not come into any decision it will with Judas as he is one of the people that is forever going on about lack of black managers.

Let’s all let it go, guys

To be honest even if you put aside all the Spurs stuff, I just can't stand Sol Campbell in general. He's just such a bizarre and extremely unlikable guy all round. I'd hate him even if I wasn't a Spurs fan, and I certainly don't think he's the right man for Macc Town.

Just to add to that, I think it says it all that Arsenal have basically disowned him too because he's just such an embarrassment all round.

The "rooney rule" in american football worked incredibly well. It's not a quota it just means that they had to include non white people in the interview process.

Then hopefully this just encourages more ex footballers to see management as a viable career.

This is the main point of the issue for me. It is not as simplea discussion as "best man gets the job."

I saw a documentary series about black managers in England. The amount of times black ex-players said there was no point in getting their badges was the concern.

I read 33% of British players in the Prem are black. That's a pool of talent that are potentially not being used.

I don't believe it is a simple case of racism. But there is an issue if people feel there is no point in them going for certain jobs.

John Barnes needs to be quiet on the issue. He was given several jobs with potential and he failed miserably. Now Campbel has got a job and he seems allwrong for management.

Hughton has got the experience and qualifications and now gets work at Prem clubs.

But lets not dumb this issue down to "best man gets the job." The issue isn't that simple.

Yeah, as a person he is a total oddity. Seems to think he's supremely intelligent whilst being an absolute moron and has absolutely zero self-awareness.

I just think the "Judas" stuff is wearing a bit thin after 20 years, the fact it still gets to our fans to even hear mention of his name feeds his delusions of grandeur I reckon

I don't even acknowledge him as a former Spurs player anymore and find it strange when I see old footage of him in our beloved lilywhite shirt.
I don't, and never did, call or refer to him as Judas. He's a former Arsenal player and that's good enough for me.
The fact that he's clearly delusional and barking mad is a bonus.

The one song I wish Spurs fans would just stop with is the "Hanging from a tree/Judas **** with HIV" song. It's a fucking embarrassment that some can't move on after almost two decades and if you really have to sing about him we have a different Campbell song (I wanna knoooooow etc.) which isn't ridiculously offensive and arguably extremely racist (lynching).

I heard that some fans sang it on the tube before the game on Sunday and I wish literally all of them would be taken to court over it.

But of course, I won't ever wish him well in anything he does.

I agree with your general sentiment about singing about him, and I'm sorry to bring this back up because I don't want to totally derail the discussion, but for what must be the millionth time it definitely needs pointing out that the song has absolutely fuck all to do with lynching despite what the tabloids at the time tried to twist it into. Judas hung himself from a tree because he couldn't cope with the guilt of betraying Jesus. It's quite clearly a reference to that (because the song calls Campbell Judas). I know it's an old argument but I'm baffled that so many people, even our own fans, still seem to play along with this complete and utter tabloid lie that our fans were glorifying lynching. It's such a convoluted argument

I couldn't quote a single bible passage if you asked me to so that is genuinely news to me, thanks for bringing that up.

However, it can't come as a surprise that singing "hanging from a tree" in reference to a black man bring up racism allegations, and they are pretty hard to refute., or rather it can be pretty hard to get people to belive otherwise.

I can see how people have twisted it into that and then people have gone along with it. But like I say, it's quite clearly a Judas reference but unfortunately that doesn't fit the narrative of the Sun or whoever it was that was naming and shaming people for singing it and labelling them racist.

The club erased him as well. I think when it was our 125 anniversary he was the only captain not shown lifting a trophy on the OS, the 1999 league cup they showed Allan Nielsen lifting it.
