As usual, don't shoot the messenger.

Or the ITK

apart from a centre half...

they have lined up 2 midfielders... for jan the main reason is because of zok going away and they think they need a upgrade in that postion anyway.

ramos does think also there is something in kaboul but like many on here thinks not the time we should be relying on him.

they will also not wait till the end of jan which im delighted to hear they know they need to have it all done in the first few days,,, so im guessing without the fella telling me names they know exactly who will and wont come

Can't really argue with a centre-half and two midfielders, but is January the time of year when we'll be able to bring in proven, established players? Possibly not.

Is Cudicini a midfielder now then?

Totally agree with this.

If rumours of Poulsen's £7m release clause are true he would be a viable option in January. But would he leave Champions League with Seville for us? Hopefully the pull of working with Ramos again could work for us.

I don't think any firearms are needed when the info is from Ben. But is depressingly obvious, so much so that most people would have said this is what we needed in the summer.

Better central midfielders have been a must-have since Carrick left. Makes more sense than the Mail story that we are going to spend £25m on David Villa.

I think Poulsen is a good bet. I don't expect us to sign any lightweights - we have enough of those.

Two tanks and a battleship at the back, please.

Didnt Ramos say the other day we will not be buying anyone January? and only clubs who are desperate (which I think we are) buy in January? Maybe wrong, but thats what I heard.

That's right Chris, but in Sunday's post-match interview Gus confirmed that we would be doing some business in January.

I see no conflict in that happening and Wendy's statement that "only desperate clubs" buy in January .

He did also say experience was needed, and now maybe after a couple of months at Spurs he realises that we are in fact desperate! It is hard signing quality in January but there will always be the odd class player unhappy at his club for whatever reason

Yeah but we fit into the desperate club category...

Albeit a less pressing part of the pitch, we are somewhat short on the flanks. Now Bale is out for 3 months, if we were to lose Lennon or Steeeed for any length of time, we'd be in trouble.

Perhaps this is why KPB was placed out on the right tuther day?

Anyway, if there's any truth in this, then that's good news. Now, where's the ITK with names attached??!

You'd have thought so, but the number of times I've got bad rep for passing on news from another board, I always feel I have to ask for forgiveness before I pass on the news...

Yes, I'm pretty sure that Poulsen would leave, because Spurs would offer a much more lucrative contract than the one he's probably on at Sevilla.

For the last couple of seasons, Sevilla punched way above their weight in La Liga. They were a buy them cheap (eg Alves & Kanoute), sell them expensive (eg Baptista & Reyes) club. That means that the wages they pay their players will be fairly low by CL standards.

Having made the financial case, I do naturally hope that Poulsen will also want to come, firstly, to play for Ramos again, and most importantly to pull on the famous shirt.

But what about a forward? With Keane's suspension we are down to a paltry three.

Its a 3 match ban isnt it? Therefore that will be Man City, Portsmouth and Arsenal...unless the Man City cup game counts as 1 game as its a domestic cup but either way he will be back for the game on Jan 1st.

But I like booing you. :-(

Cheers for the pass-on, Raybo, silly season begins early.

January windows are always better as they are so much more finite and compacted. Let's hope it's a good one for us.
