Basically lets you put your entire CL squad on the bench.

Increases the chance of youngsters getting a run out.

I would like some more info on the 17.55 kick offs, hoping that doesn’t apply to English clubs as that would be a pain to get to on time with work etc

12 subs is great. We often travel with young players in the squad who then watches the match from the stand. Now they'll be on the bench, and might even get some minutes if we're cruising.

What, the youngsters that wouldn’t have even kicked a ball in the Prem because of 18 man matchday squad rules. Don't see it.

I know Ranieri during his tenure at Leicester was all for increasing the match day squad in the prem to 22. This could aid youngsters and get them incorporated into the first team quicker. You know, the opportunity to blood a couple here and there in games we are comfortably winning.

Unless I’m reading it wrong then the 12 subs thing is only for the final in which case I can’t see many managers giving a run out for the kids

Think the 12 subs is a bit overkill.
I think they have that many subs in Italy, right?

Poch said something about it in a presser before one of the Juve matches - he said he would like it, so he did not have to answer questions about why any particular player was left off the bench in a given match.

I can't see any reason for not having it. You are allowed a 25 man squad so why not allow everyone in the matchday squad?

I have also said you should be allowed a "free" sub of an u21 club trained player. Could be either 1 per match or once the other 3 subs have been used etc.

It looks like the 12 subs is only for the final.
Strange that's it's only for the finals. Maybe the idea is for the team to bring extra players to allow more fringe players to enjoys the prestige of being named in the squad for a big cup final.

Not a big fan of removing the cup tied rule. I can see it benefiting the richer teams as they will be able to spend more in Jan knowing the players will be avaliable for European competition.

It’s absurd. Apparently the Met police aren’t keen on that kick off time during the week according to a poster on coys so it might not happen to us anyway.

Hope you’re right
Me three. My boss is hugely understanding, but we waltzing out of work at 3pm so I can get to the ground and have a couple of pre match pints could prove interesting.

I'd be happy if they're not, but, at least looking at the match in isolation, I don't understand why they wouldn't be happier with less booze time for the fans?
