A reality check by ESPN - and they hit the nail on the head.
If we can get our full squad of players fit and firing - we can go from strength to strength this season and then.....who knows?! COYS!

the heart of this, and the point that has frustrated me, is that the Pool game and Madrid showed how good we are with a mostly fit side but instead of getting the last few players fit and integrated (Rose, Wanyama and Lamela), we have moved backwards with injuries to Kane, Alli, Winks and Toby

I Keep saying, that lost to West Ham was our only chance of silverware,
Teams like Man utd will have players like Ibrahimovic in there cup squads
And if we come up against them in a quarter final or semi,
You all know what the outcome will be !

I thought Poch's comments were ridiculous. I get the need to deflect, but sometimes you just have to put your hands up. He's normally pretty good on this stuff but to suggest we were better than them before the goal just defies logic and makes him look silly.

Think there's lots of people getting very ahead of themselves.

We were lack lustre. The injuries, poor refereeing decisions and maybe the International call ups did not help. Arsenal were up for this game and we did not match them.
We do miss Wanyama and I have concerns about Llorente who hasn’t performed at all and Poch also seems to lack confidence in him as he did not start.

It's a toughie and obviously we are struggling with niggles and long term injuries.

But we have form issues too. Massive fan of Alli but even before he picked up a knock, I don't understand how he's justifying his inclusion in the side at the moment. Madrid aside (and he wasn't as good as the 2 goals would lead you to believe), he has struggled for whatever reason. So wasteful with possession at the moment. It really hurts us. I would certainly be affording Son more opportunities, in his place right now. I think it would do both the power of good.

I understand what Sissoko brings to the team. I really do. Power, pace, dynamism, work rate. But with both him and Alli in the side, we are giving the ball away so much. It blunts our counter attacks, hands possession back to good teams.

We HAVE to find a solution to this imo.

Edit - that's not an attack on Alli. He's got so much ability. I just think he needs help, someone needs to take him aside.

Agree if we had beaten west ham just look who we would have to play and gone out to in the next round, so only prolonging the agony in being turned over again.

We have some massive players missing for us at the moment - either absent, not fully fit or out of form.
Absent: Wanyama, Toby, Rose & Lamela
Not fully fit: Winks, Dembele, Kane,
Out of Form: - (in my opinion - he needs a rather long bench break to get his hunger back - automatically starting him is hurting us)....Dele.

There are some key, key players in that group and it's going to take weeks to get them all back.

The squad will do OK in the interim - but we're a long way off our strongest and most fluid team - who then need a series of matches to get that Spurs swagger working again.

MoPo must be very frustrated at the moment. That said - we are still missing that dynamic - front footed player who can give Dele a run for his money. I bore myself by mentioning Salah (as I wanted him years back) - but there are others out there who we should be in the market for. There were rumours we approached Rashford (which would have been excellent) - but I'd settle for a Zaha or a Richarlson at this moment in time.

Note also N'Jie doing very well at Marseille - and what happened to N'Kou?

Our season will get better and better of that I am sure.
COYS!

Salah did not wish to be with us from what I've seen.

I think poch is frustrated but in equal measure some of the things he has done so far have also been frustrating.
Saturday's line up wasn't right nor was the lack of intensity against Utd and arsenal in particular or belief I'm themselves, yes we have some injuries but everyone gets them just have to deal with it.
So far it shows we are not quite at the level both mentality and squad wise yet let's hope for top four and it is job well done.

I don't think it was our only chance of silverware, though we missed a trick after being two up. Clearly the two domestic cups are easier to win than the league or the champions league. We can still win the FA Cup, get top four and get through another round in the Champions League. A lot to ask but it's possible and that's a great season.
