We have been scoring a lot lately. It's been brilliant to watch. Here are some stats about it all that I hope you all enjoy.

  • After 31 PL games we have scored 64 goals. Our Premier League record (and our 38 game season record), set last season, is 69.

  • In the last 20 league games we've really turned it on and have scored 49 goals. That's 10 more than anybody else in the league over the same period At an average of 2.45 goals per game, that would equate to 93 goals if we'd maintained that rate for the whole year. Who remembers when we drew four consecutive games 0-0 under Graham?

  • We have score 4 or more goals in a game more times than anyone else in the league (seven times).

  • At the time of writing, we currently have a goal difference of +42. Manchester United, that team that used to rip teams to shreds every week and spent the equivalent of some countries GDPs on boosting their squad in the summer, have scored 43 goals.

  • We have only failed to score in four league games this season, something bettered Arsenal and Chelsea. Even if we don't score again for the rest of the season, we will still only equal the 11 games we went without scoring in the 2013-14 season.

  • With Kane on 24, Alli on 19 and Son on 18, it's quite conceivable that we could have three players all reach the 20 goal mark (all competitions) in the same season. The last time that happened was, as you can probably guess, in the 60-61 season (Bobby Smith, Les Allen and Cliff Jones). Remember in the 96-97 season our top scorer was Sheringham with 8 goals. Yes, 8 goals in all competitions.

  • I believe (although I cannot confirm just yet), that we are also the top scorers in the FA Cup this season, having scored 15 goals in our four games.

  • All of this of course, with our top goalscorer and best striker missing eight games so far.

All of these brilliant statistics, along with the one proving that we have gathered most points in the league since the beginning of the last season, only deepens my sadness that this wonderful team full of talent will lose out the title to a plastic fantasy-football side.

I know, it's about progress (and we are doing everything perfectly fine), but still, this team deserves the glory. That's why it hurts so much.

Eh, even in football life can't be fuck-up-free.

Our goal difference has improved by 1.35 gpg, averaged out over 31 games so far. Should be over 50 by season end. Nice.

I remember being happy when it was in double figures, or wasn't negative.

And not only is our goal difference the best in the top flight, it's also better than any other club in the Football League too. Amazing stuff!
