He doesn’t have that option. I believe it has be done by the time he’s 28.

He has to do 21 months of military duty by july 2020. If Korea don't win the Asia Games, it's bye bye Sonny...

Yeah, I do know he has to do it before summer of 2020 - I just think it’s ridiculous and archaic, there should be room for common sense because realistically all he will be doing is clerical work... does he really need to be doing that in the prime of his football career? I don’t think so.

While I agree with that the decision is the South Korean government’s to make, Son has no say in the matter.

Why do you suppose it will just be clerical? South Korea borders with the largest minefield on earth and correct me if I'm wrong but is in a state of cease fire with N Korea. Im pretty sure they treat their military duty seriously. Wouldn't you if you had a madman with nukes and a million strong standing army across the fence?
