Son Heung-min is to have surgery to stabilise a fracture around his left eye which could rule him out of the World Cup.

Son suffered the injury during Tottenham's 2-1 win away to Marseille in the Champions League on Tuesday.

I also haven't seen footage of the incident, but I'm sure I read somewhere that it was an accidental clash. If it had been intentional on the Marseille player's part, the Spurs players would have had something to say, but there was no mention of that. It's unfortunate, but sadly these things will happen from time to time in physical sports.

Mbemba also caught Kane with a flailing arm later in the match but I don't think either incident was deliberate from his part. He brought it about by just not being in control of his body and being late, with really unfortunate consequences.

I really don’t think there was an internet to cause harm. The both went for the ball and the guy jumped higher than Son. It’s more likely that Son clashed with the opponent. I feel for the guy as he really needed to keep playing to get back into form.

I wasn’t talking about him missing the World Cup. I expect him to go and play unfortunately. He needs a break from football full stop. I cannot see him playing anymore games for us until December but with a mask maybe the Leeds game.

But not malicious nor intentional. Hence no yellow card. Which was correct, it was a collision with an unfortunate outcome

I don't believe he wanted to break any bones but I suspect he wanted to leave one on him.
