Souleymane Coulibaly (born 26 December 1994) is an Ivorian footballer who plays as a centre forward for Italian Serie B club U.S. Grosseto on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and the Côte d'Ivoire national under-17 football team.

On 25 January 2013, Coulibaly joined Italian Serie B club U.S. Grosseto on loan until the end of the season.

I just noticed this yesterday and do not see a "loanwatch" thread for him already -- I hope he gets loads of playing time, bags some goals, and does not experience too much abuse in the notoriously rough/ignorant atmosphere of Serie B. :mask:

C'mon Souleymane, GET IN!! (y)

Not on the bench today!

http://www.usgrosseto1912.it/web/content/grosseto-padova-i-convocati-0

Seems to have been called into a 22 man squad for the game, but not into the final match squad.

The next few fixtures seem to be :

Sat 09/02/13 SEB Crotone 14 : 00 Grosseto
Sat 16/02/13 SEB Grosseto 14 : 00 Virtus Lanciano
Fri 22/02/13 SEB Juve Stabia 18 : 00 Grosseto
Tue 26/02/13 SEB Grosseto 19 : 45 Vicenza
Sat 02/03/13 SEB Sassuolo 14 : 00 Grosseto

The main Grosseto strikers seem to be 25 yrar old Lupoli (ex Arsenal) who has scored 4 goals in 17 appearances and 32 year old Quadrini who has not scored in his 11 appearances this season but they have also taken 28 year old Piovaccari on loan in January from Sampadoria who scored on his Grosetto debut (1 goal in 1 appearance). There are also 2 other strikers there who have not played - 26 year old Giménez who arrived on loan from Bolgna in January and 22 year old Giovio who has not played this season.

Lupio and Piovaccari started today against Padova (1-1 draw, og scored for Grosseto)

IMO Coulibaly could face a struggle to get into the squad regularly with 2 other strikers bering loaned in from Italian clubs in January - but lets hope he does !

Sad to see that he struggle to get in that line up. But he is new to them. He will get a chance, then he have to take it.

If what I'm looking at is accurate, he didn't make the squad for the match today.

Grosseto (4-2-3-1): Lanni, Donati, Feltscher, Frying Pan (Ch.), Calderoni; Crimi, Jadid (56 ° Mandorlini), Left, Soddimo (78 ° Lupoli), Sheet (61 ° Coulibaly); Piovaccari.
Came on in the 61st minute.

Comment from a fansite :

61° COULIBALY 6): il ragazzo ha sicuramente del talento e lo fa vedere con alcune interessanti iniziative personali, ma deve ancora integrarsi nella squadra.

which seems to translate to :
61 ° COULIBALY 6): The kid definitely has talent and shows it with some interesting personal initiatives, but has yet to integrate into the team.

Good to hear. Glad I was wrong.

Souleymane Coulibaly came on in the 60th minute and forced a save from goalkeeper Rafael as Grosseto went down 2-0 against Hellas Verona in Serie B in Italy.

Comment on fan site :

(COULIBALY 6): the public has placed in him great confidence, it takes the commitment and usually manage to do something positive, but not enough to find the goal.

Other players were awarded as low as 5 and the highest was 6.5 so Coulibaly was above average.

Think that's his 4th appearance from the bench totalling about 90 minutes, with another 5 matches as an unused sub.

Only 18 in December so its not a disaster, although we all hoped he would be playing more. Lets hope he continues to get chances for the remainder of the season as that may determine where he goes next season (possibly a similar level loan ?).

67': Dentro Coulibaly, fuori Brugman
http://www.biancorossi.it/portal/index.php/live-match
Off the bench again

Grosseto-Cesena 1-2 (Grosseto had one player sent off and Caseena two players sent off)

86 ° GOAL! Network Gimenez which reaffirms the network header of Coulibaly dismissed from the post.
which I think that Gimenez scored from a Coulibaly header that bounced off the post

90 ° + 4 Miraculous save from goalkeeper Campagnolo from Coulibaly header

(68 ° COULIBALY 6.5) with its great impact on the race. Auspicious Gimenez's goal with a header that ends on the pole, then the head is always close to break-even in recovery, but Campagnolo says no with a miracle.

Only one other player got 6.5, others lower marks from fans. Grosseto are still boittom of the league (and pretty much dead certs to be relegated) surely time that Grosseto gave Coulibaly a start

I may have missed this but is there any link or reason
why he went so far away and to such a seemingly strange choice for a loan move?
