Not good for them if this happens, him leaving will have a massive knock on effect with the coach and players.

Edit *Text just in from a Saints ITK*

Saints have received a large bid for a player and the owners are looking at it, Chairman had told the Coach no players will be sold and in turn the coach told the media no players would be sold.

It's Jason Puncheon isn't it? We need a PK taker once Defoe leaves.

Could be a scramble.

If we can sure up a deal for pochettinho in the summer then we're likely to get the pick of who we want i.e. Shaw.

Go shinehead, go!

This.

If we got him in now, would get give us a very nice USP for any Saints players we want.

lallana, i'd say. i can't see an immediate need for shaw by anyone (bar us) at the moment. lallana, though, would be immense at united or even (spit, spit) arsenal.

Surely if Pochettino leaves Southampton we should do everything possible to snatch him up come the summer?

Yeah but that's why I say Rodriguez, because I think everyone will go for Lallana. Rodriguez can also cover up front

Not for me. We've tried the 'flavour of the month' route before and its never worked out for us. Lose two games and SC would be full of why doesn't he speak english threads and all that guff. A disaster waiting to happen.

Rodriguez is good, but I don't see that he fills a position of need here. We are overloaded with midfielders, and we may need a striker, but Rodriguez is more of a forward than an out and out striker. I think he'd be one of many here, unfortunately, as i do rate him.

We can't really put too many feelers out with regards to Pochettino even if we wanted to considering our current manager has another 17 months on his contract.

I agree with A&C though. He needs to do a lot more before we consider him.

Lot of rumours that man city are going to make a huge bid for shaw that will knock everyone else out of the running. They need more English players for their squad is the reasoning, just rumours but would line up with what seems to be happening

All over a bid for a player? Seriously? The chairman resigned because of a bid for a single player? Oh fuck me. What a dumb fucking reason for the turmoil. I want something juicy. This is like a fucking blueball.

I like Sky Sports version of selling the club better....

1. For the 89489488378372767661761712892nd time he does speak English, just not to the press.

2. No chance of us ever getting Shaw, stop suggesting it.

I dont think its the bid itself mate, more that the owners have not dismissed it out of hand which is what the Chairman has been saying for awhile now, he says no players going out, the manager then says no players going out...but the owners are looking at this bid for a player...id say its more about being made to look like a tit and not being backed by the people above him who i would assume said they wouldnt sell, and as the chairman for Saints is massive cog in the wheel....it is very large deal.
