Didn’t see the game earlier but just watched motd. First saints goal wouldn’t have happened if Toby was playing. If he is fit he is the first name on the team sheet for me. Shocker from Poch.

And in our last 3 league games individual errors have led to 2 goals conceded against Chelsea, a goal conceded against the goons and now another today against Southampton. Fuckin hell sort it out lads!!

Meh, doesn’t matter. We got away with one for Kane’s goal after the throw in was taken in the wrong place. Doesn’t excuse the shit performance second half.
agreed not good 2nd half but big diff between a throw in few yards and this

wanna get even more aggravated?

Wtf, that was criminal.

We were never treated fairly. Some of these shit clubs just need to look at such incidents their clubs did before witch-hunting us of all the 'atrocities' we did. The throw in was not worth discussing AT ALL..

How I wish this current 19 other clubs in the league will relegate 3-by-3 in succession and be replaced entirely by the lower leagues in 6 years.

Still fuming af with this result after a night.

The wheels are fairly falling off the bus these days. Poch and Levy are gonna look like 2 fools if we aren’t playing CL in the new stadium next season.

But looking on the bright side, we are sitting in 3rd place despite not investing a penny for over a yesr, we had 9 players involved in the semis of the WC so no rest or pre-season, plus we have had no home ground all season. Makes the prospects for next season seem pretty good really.

Considering Levy has not spent even a single penny in the last 2 windows, does anyone have any idea / opinion what our budget is likely to be this summer??

Levy: you want me to spend money when we miss the CL? Dream on

Our left backs and right backs are trash. Plain and simple. I mean everyone of them!!! None of them could start for the other top 5 teams in the league...

I think radical changes need to be made. Bench Kane and Eriksen. Give Son the top spot and put Dele and Lamela in behind him. Im sorry but Kane just thinks that he has the monopoly on scoring. He had a few moments where he should have passed but didn't and Erisken just couldn't be arsed anymore.

I think it's time we only play the people who truely want to put in 100%. Even if they are Aurier. I mean Sissoko always did and that turned into him becoming a leading DM in the league.

What we lack is humility and ruthlessness at the same time. The team should collectively cover the travelling costs for the fans really

If we don't make CL this year you might find the changes more radical than you would like.
That stadium needs paying for and without CL revenue, how's that going to happen?

The process of building NWHL started long before we became CL regulars. So I'm not sure Levy ever could have counted that as a must have.

However, If Levy needs CL every single season to finance the stadium he will have to start paying CL prices in the transfer market.

In the long run if we want to achieve sustained success we have to spend
like the other top teams. With rare exceptions the teams that win the big
trophies are the richest ones.

I think most of us knew that deep down this run of ours was never sustainable.
We simply spend nowhere near what is required on either transfers or wages.

With a stadium to pay off this is unlikely to change any time soon.

I agree and this summer we will have to spend over £100 million to even stand still. Can anyone seriously expect to see us do that? I think we all know the answer. It’s going to be pretty bleak summer I fear.

A strange game. We actually played really well in the first half, should have been a couple ahead at half time.

Even for the first 20 mins of the second half when Southampton were pushing we looked quite comfortable as they were generally shit going forward. We just had a day when all our back four had poor games....

Jan was giving the ball away frequently and nowhere near his recent form.
Sanchez was a mistake after mistake. He is young so we need to forgive him for now.
Rose is turning into Neymar with his diving and holding his face after a challenge. Also kept making the wrong decisions in possesion.
Walker-Peters, who I feel so sorry for, had a shocker defensively. Gave away the ball so often and also gave away a few unnecessary free kicks. It must be hard coming in for the odd game here or there but he has done nothing this year in games to oust Trippier or Aurier in my view.

Poch's comments weree were interesting re our arrogance. I think this is right. People think we bottle it when we don't win. It is the opposite in my view. We get too confident and think we can win easy. That is when we struggle. Now we are in a real fight for top four I expect us to up our game. This team has shown over the past few years we are resilient and hopefully now we will prove that.

The other thing I noticed again is the diamond is not our best shape. We started off with what seemed a 4-2-3-1 and this worked a treat. When Son came on we moved to a 4-1-2-1-2 I think, with him and Kane up front. We then lost complete control of the midfield. First half Dier was excellent, dropping in between the centre backs and linking with the midfield with Sissoko. Dele and Eriksen were getting so much space it was great. Second half after the switch we had no control and no time on the ball. Poch seems to like the diamond but maybe because Dele has been out. Now he is back hopefully we can go to a 3 behind Kane.

It will be a long 3 weeks now until the Liverpool game. I still think we will get top 4. It will need 2 of the chasing pack to overtake us and they will be under as much pressure as us and probably are not as good.

I still say a top four finish this year along with semi final of league cup and quarters (or better hopefully) of champions league represents an excellent season.

And we are going home soon. Lets not lose faith or respect for this team so quickly. They don't deserve that. COYS

Individual errors have cost us a whole lot this season. Would be interested if errors have cost any other team more that us other than Cardiff.

After 30 games this season 61 points after 30 games last season 61 points . We haven't progressed apart from going a round further in CL.

Actually, I think it has a lot to do with investment.

The best players have the best mentality. That's what ultimately separates the best from the pack.

We have failed to invest in players with the requisite mentality to make the step-up from also-rans to winners.

Is there a year when we did invest and made as big an improvement as you are suggesting? Most teams who invested big money are no better off than they were last year. I don't think investment or lack of is the be and end all that some people keep the mantra about.

It's the 'risk' you have to take if you want to move forward as a club though. If you fail in progressing with who you acquire you have to hold your hands up but I think you have to make the step to find out.

Liverpool for example, took a massive risk in spending so much on Van Dijk and Allison and it paid off. It could have equally not worked out but had a goal in sight, to move up a level and challenge for the title or stay as they were.

In our case I think investment is even more important than in some others. We don't provide the wages to keep certain players here if they don't feel the club is progressing in the right direction. I think we in particular simply have to invest to heighten the chances of keeping this squad or most of this squad together. It's about the message we're sending out as a club too.
