Five changes to the team that started against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday. The headline team news is that Dele returns from a hamstring injury sustained at Fulham on 20 January. He's joined by Eric Dier, his first start in the Premier League since the win at Leicester City on 8 December, since when he's has Appendicitis and Tonsillitis. Kyle Walker-Peters makes his first start in the Premier League since Boxing Day. So it's Dele, Dier, Walker-Peters, Lucas Moura and Danny Rose in for Ben Davies, Heung-Min Son, Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld and Harry Winks.

Match: ___ English Premier League - Day 30

When: ____ Saturday, March 9th 2019

Where: ____ St Mary's Stadium

Kick Off: ____ 3:00pm

Team Form: ____ Soton DLLWL _____ Spurs WLLDW _____ (All Competitions)

Since their return to the EPL in 2012, Southampton are winless in their 6 home league games against us (D2 L4). They’d won their previous games against us before that run. Southampton have won 3 of their 7 EPL home games under Manager Ralph Hasenhutti (D1 L3) as many as they had in their previous 24 combined at ST Mary’s under Mauricio Pellegrino and Mark Hughes (W3 D11 L10)

Southampton have lost more points from winning positions than any other side in the EPL this season. Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse has netted 5 EPL goals this season, more than he has in any previous campaign in the competition. Those 5 goals have come in his last 8 games – his previous 5 came over a period of 52 games. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made 13.6 of Southampton’s successful passes in the EPL this season (1135/8365) – no midfielder has made a higher proportion for their side in 2018-19.

We have lost just one of our last 13 EPL meetings with Southampton (W10 D2), scoring at least once in all 13 games. We have lost our last 2 away league games, the same number we had lost in our previous 13 on the road (W11 D0 L2).

We’ve only lost three in a row on the road under Poch once before (November 2017). Poch has never lost away at former club Southampton in the EPL (W2 D2) – Only Harry Redknapp (5 games against West Ham) has had a longer unbeaten away run against a specific side he has formerly managed in the competition.

Kane has scored in each of his last four EPL meetings with Southampton, netting 6 goals in total. He also scored in each of his last 3 against them at St Mary’s Stadium. Just 9.2% of Kane’s EPL touches this season have been shots- lowest ratio in a single season since his full campaign with Spurs in 2014-15 (7.5%), and down from 14.6% last term.

With Arsenal playing United on Sunday, anything less than 3 points would be a disaster.

We need end our horror run. Loss, Loss, Draw simply isn't good enough at this stage of the season.

Please win ?? anything else will make the 3 week break seem like 3 months.

Play the strongest possible line up and treat it like our top 4 place depends on it because I really believe that it does.

This Is going to be a very though game. Based upon their excellent showing against United, with their rapid pressing & quick passing/transition, we're going to need to be much better than in our previous 3 games before the excellent performance against Dortmund.

Hopefully Tuesday's result & performance has put a bit of confidence back into the squad.

An injury report from Southampton: Danny Ings misses out on tomorrows game while Mario Lemina just returned to full team training. Michael Obafemi out with a long term injury.

This is a must win. Fail to win this and I think we miss out on top 4 at the end of the season.

No pressure.

Although they've improved, their defence still has the sort of mistakes in that Kane will thrive off. I expect him to bag a brace and Dele returning to get one also in a 3-1 win.

As everyone has said, it really is a must win. Especially with Liverpool after that which, let's be honest, we will almost certainly lose.
