Would be that same "idiotic playing out from back" that has seen us finish top 4 in the last 3 season?

Time and place. It's not a case of stopping it entirely. It's a case of stopping it when it is getting us into trouble. We are often guilty of overplaying and sometimes when the momentum is going against you, you play it safety first in your third.

Deflated like the rest of us but we built s big enough lead to allow us getting 1 point in 4 games. There is now no more room for error. This long break will do the team good. No point having another game in 4 days if it's going to be the same.

New stadium is badly needed and could be our Savour

Our fans at the game deserved it also, thinking about it.

1-0 up on about 70 mins, but a torturous second half throughout. They decide that's the moment to taunt the opposition that they're going down. Like fuck we were in any position to taunt them at that point.

It's so shit going into such a long break with a loss and a feeling of freefalling down the league. Gonna be 3 looooong weeks. Another lazy performance by everyone

What a collapse in form. We're in danger of falling away completely unless we arrest this decline. It's very disappointing, we should be able to put lower half teams away.

And honestly. I love us being in the Champions League. But is it the end of the world if we are in the Europa next season? Of course not. Some of my favourite games have actually been in the Europa. Young players on the pitch. Great support with no particular pressure or expectations on us. Kane's first appearances and hat-trick, Lamela's rabona, Bale's free-kicks, Dembele's winner in Lyon. Hopefully we're in the UCL - and I still make us strong favourites for it, because a season is 38 games rather than 4 - but if we're not I'll still be there, having fun and supporting Spurs. Who knows - maybe it'll be the stage where Jack Roles, Troy Parrott or Samuel Shashoua becomes the next big thing for us. That's the fantastic side of football.

Not sure if serious, but to add the away days are better as well...

You watch levy increase prices next season regardless of where we finish, it might sound plastic but I’m not paying champions league prices for Europa league football...will just do away games.

These results against Burnley, Chelsea and Southampton totally take away the joy of qualifying for the QF of the CL for me. Sickening stuff, especially given the 'quality' of the opposition. Just be professional second half today, don't drop the intensity and win the game comfortably.

Top trolling.
100% honestly not trolling. I'm dead serious. Some of those matches with the "1882" movement, singing for 90 minutes without it being a disaster if we didn't win, seeing players break through and eventually make a real mark in the other tournaments. They've been fantastic moments for me.

It's just a difference in expectation. I expect to go to a game and enjoy it. Some people inexplicably expect the club that's won two titles and not a single European Cup in their 137 year history to be winning such things right now, and go mental if we perform literally a rung below that. Only enjoying yourself if we're the best team in the world winning the biggest honours has never been what Tottenham's about, and if everybody thought like that we simply would not have survived the 90s and early 2000s.

I agree with fans who say we never bottled title challenges but we are currently definitely bottling top 4 this season. Our form is absolutely woeful in the league which is baffling considering performances vs Dortmund.
Moving into the new stadium to see us finish outside the top 4 would be a right shit show.

Poch’s post game interview

“Difficult to understand how the two halves were played do differently”

“Disappointed”

“Couldn’t understand the way we conceded the first goal”

(Not exactly in his own words )

The end of this season can't come quick enough.

I couldn't give a shit who we get in the next round of the fucking Champions League ... You're having a fucking laugh.

Find a starting 11 until something shit happens, then plug another player in and another and stick to that until the end of the fucking year.

There are some players that have been coasting in this team for an age, there are one or two who aren't anywhere near as fucking good as they think there are and there are one or two as fans that we've misplaced judgement in.

We're on for a hiding away at Liverpool and City and no idea if they'll turn up for the rest.

& there is a question mark about Poch for me now, that interview that ESPN picked up on and published yesterday - what in the actual fuck ...

New stadium or not this season feels more like the ends of Redknapp and AVB than anything else.

Wankers to a man tonight, screwed the pooch in a game that should have been in the bag by half time.

Piss on the fires and call in the dogs this season is over.

I know 2 sets of supporters who'll be laughing their heads off & they won't have any problems calling us legends!

Don't put your chances away you don't win games & we seem to need to score 3 or 4 goals to win a game.

Second half, Southampton were excellent to be fair and what I had expected after their display at OT last week. Of course, we still had the chances to win though

Yeah, best way to stoke a fire under an opposition team.

Why no Toby though?
Out best defender & not even on the bench ready to come on if we are put under pressure.
Rested & we don't have another game for three weeks??

Bang in trouble now,you just knew it was gonna happen after all the missed chances in the first half , Saints were all over us 2nd half and we were so open, with our usual arrogance of we'll out play you no matter what. Why the fuck can't we be tighter until we've scored a 2nd or 3rd and then open up ? Dragged back into the top four race and we've only ourselves to blame, squeaky fucking bum time or what!

Resting two players who had great games on Tuesday was really fucking odd.

Kane wasting 3 or 4 glorious chances in the first half that normally you'd back him to either score or at least hit the target was really fucking odd.

Danny Rose and Sanchez allowing the ball through their legs after Walker Peters allowed the cross was really fucking odd.

Taking so long to change the set up after Saints improved from the first whistle in the second half was really fucking odd.

From defending brilliantly in Dortmund to defending like that today was really fucking odd.

All in all, really fucking odd. Deserved to lose.

When you don't take your chances, and you take fucking liberties at the back, you're gonna fucking lose.

Top 4 is seriously now in doubt. And 3 bloody weeks to wait, with that shit 2nd half left to mull on.
