A gem from the latest issue of Private Eye.
Apparently some merry prankster added a few amendments to Wikipedia's Omonia Nicosia entry, including the little-known facts that they are sponsored by Natasha Kaplinsky and that their squad includes Jean-Claude van Damme and Richard Clayderman. Apparently their hard-core supporters, 'The Zany Ones' wear hats made of shoes and sing a song about a little potato.
Previewing the first leg of their tie against City, top Mirror Sports journo David Anderson wrote: 'Mark Hughes will not tolerate any slip-ups against the Cypriot side, whose fans are known as the 'Zany Ones' and wear hats made from shoes.'
