Niko must be gutted, but Modric was the only one who could replace him ....

    C O Y S !!!!!

Nice starting line up and great to see Modrics name again, COYS

Looks like our strongest lineup, very happy with it. They're without Carlton Cole so our defence should have an easier ride than in the last fixture at Upton Park

That is a wonderful lineup - real balance across midfield. Plenty of speed, passing ability, scoring ability, muscle, and experience. And then you take a look at the bench - must be one of the strongest in the premiership. It will be interesting to see what it looks like after January - I feel that if we are going to make a sustained push for top four we will need to keep our bench looking like that until the summer and then make any changes.

Two subs used already by them....we want 10 against this lot

I hope, it is not going to be another one that we will draw or lose as we should have more than 1goal.

Good game, good line-up and the only concern is that we should be more than 1-0 up. The longer the score stays like that, the more nervous Spurs will become, inevitably dropping deeper towards the end of the match.

Palacios has been very good in distribution and overall midfield play, and seems almost the only one who tries to find Lennon consistently.

The front two have not done enough to make the breakthrough 2nd goal yet.
Crouch has had one of the games where he seems to be involved, but for all the headers he won, only one of them found a teammate in a good position, the rest leading to loss of possession time and again. Corluka is particularly guilty of looking for an easy option of lobbing a high ball towards Crouch when a move on the ground could be continued.

Did we really need THREE defenders on the bench today, at home against a team one point above relegation area, leaving just one place for a forward?
  8. pistolP
    We need a second goal.
  9. pistolP
Defoe is having a poor game and so is Crouch but better than Defoe

    Defoe 2-0 Spurs

I thought Huddlestone was a class act, tough in the tackle, quick and excellent distribution. Possibly his best game for us. Modric was also great. No one had a poor game we just couldn't put the chances away.

    Certainly this season, I agree
As Ledders is susceptible to injury and BAE is rumoured to have a groin problem, I can see why

Great goal by JD after a quiet game
  13. pistolP
I thought the front two were not that good today.

Good win today. A bit nervy during the hour mark but the second goal from Defoe really kill the game. My MOTM have to be Huddlestone. Good interception, positioning, pressuring the opposition defence and do have some lovely movements when he just breeze into the opposition penalty area with some lovely one two. Unlucky with the shot that hit the post.

I didn't see this game but if West Ham were that poor and the game was won easily, then why were in-form players rested against Fulham and replaced by those very much out of form and/or weaker players? Surely we should have gone for 3pts against Fulham rather than scrape a fortunate draw. I understand why Modric couldn't play both but what about Hudd and Defoe? It's thirteen days until the next league game FFS!

Brilliant performance in terms of domination but we still find it hard to capitalise on that in the final third despite Lennon's undoubted improvement in popping those balls into the box.

Crouch was very sluggish today and a lot of stray passes in midfield too - although WHAM made it hard for us. It's a good job their passing was worse than ours. Palacios worked real hard but again his passing was left wanting.

Huddlestone was superb as was the defense again. Gomes looks well on his game at the moment.

We look like a very good side for the first season in a long time.

Here's hoping for a draw with Villa/Pool and come on Portsmouth and Fulham (1-0 vs Chelsea so far BTW!!!)

    Oh yeah, and COYS!!!

You're having a laugh arent you. We dominated all over the pitch.

    Some quick thoughts.

A good win, but it should have been put to bed a lot sooner. We also should have added more than two goals because goal difference is worth an extra point.

The front two had a poor game and Crouch's lack of movement behind their back four was a factor. It was a game for a quicker sharper player and maybe Keane could and should have come on at the hour mark.

I thought West Ham were going to nick an equaliser and don't understand why Harry did not make a couple of changes to change the flow of the game in the last 15 minutes.

It was another clean sheet, but we have rode our luck in the last few games and should not be complacent about this stat.

We need to protect the ball more when we go forward. Too often in recent games we have caused ourselves problems when giving the ball away needlessly especially square passes and little flicks when the simple ball was on.

I think Harry target four points from Fulham and West Ham and he got them, so a job well done. He has a chance to freshen up the team for the cup game and by the time we play Liverpool we may even have a couple of new additions.
