Incredible goal from Lamela, but Kane was the star for me. Ignoring his stint between the sticks, he is just getting better and better and I really hope that is reflected in more starts.

Good scoreline, but I could see why Pochettino wasn't happy for most of the game; the backline was far too often undone by the diagonal pass.

I noted the ability to play the offside-trap was lacking & there is something infuriatingly wrong that is going to cost us against regular opposition. When you're a full-back & can see right across the line there really shouldn't be a reason why you're playing the opposition onside.

Both Dier & Davies were culpable of this; for instance, Davies in the first-half was playing their striker onside when Lloris had to come out & head the ball, which meant hearts in mouths time. I know Dier isn't a full-back, so he does get a bit of leeway, but considering that CB's get really annoyed when their good offside discipline is undone by the stray full-back behind them, then he should really do better.

All our goals were really well taken & I think Kane should get a start on Sunday. In behind the striker with Lamela & Eriksen in the inside-forward positions would be ideal. I know people will say 'its only Asteras', but i thought Dembele was really good. I can't believe i'm quoting Andy Townsend, but when he took the shot that led to Kane's second, he said, "I wish he would do that a little bit more." I believe you could extend that sentiment to cover his general play. He has got great strength, balance & wonderful control of the ball that makes you wonder why he is isn't affecting games more. I would really like to see him & Mason take the centre-mid spots on Sunday.

I believe had it been only two-nil, but with a much more solid defensive base, then the Poch would have been a lot more happy, but them's the breaks. Hopefully he's taken away what he needs to from the game & hopefully guide the team to a victory on Sunday. I believe in the Poch.

I might get flamed for this please just post you opinion, I thought it was the Kane and Lamela show it was as if capoue, Dembele Townsend and Ade didn't excist at times in the first 60 min, I know we scored 5 but it felt that most of what we did didn't click In the final third our final ball or decision making was just a tiny fraction out I mean so many times we were really really close to great goals. For me not until the last 30 min did Dembele do enough maybe I am being harsh I felt the ball was not released and moved quick enough. Townsend didn't have his best game either. But I really enjoyed watching the game scoring 5 (I felt mo pos pain though)

For me Lamela causes the biggest frustration in regards to the ball not being released soon enough, well taken goals though.

Remember about a year ago a couple of posters saying Kane wasnt good enough nor going to make it with us. Happy to see he is proving those 'experts' wrong.

I know people are going to think I'm mad with comparing Lamela with Gazza but they are both similar in the fact they're not scared to try something even if it fails.

Gazza was the same, a lot of the time the things he tried didn't come off but the time it did and the more consistant he became, people forgot the numerous mistakes he made in the game and just remember the magic moments he produced.

I think Lamela will be similar in that fashion, he's frustrate the hell out of us but will produce moments of magic which very few players can produce.

Eventually he'll get more consistent and hopefully repay the faith we've shown in him.

Regarding Harry Kane, the boy isn't just knocking on the door of the PL team, he's blowing it off it's hinges.

Still like to see Soldado starting against Newcastle after his performance against Man City, despite the unfortunate penalty, he played well and would be unlucky to miss out.

If Harry continues on what he does (against better opposition) I don't think anyone would begrudge him of an EPL start.

Lloris was world class again last night and after one particular save in the second half, about six of his teammates came up to him to congratulate him and one of the oppo too which I thought was class.
The 1882 lot congregated in to South Lower / Upper block 31 got the chant "England's No 1" up and running which was fantastic for Kane as the clock ran down with him wearing not only Lloris' shirt, but the Captain's armband too!

There were plenty who said the same about Bale. I always said he would come good and I've been saying the same about Kane and Lamela.

Just an observation - when was the last time a keeper walked off with the match ball?

Well I hope you guys can quote me in a year's time and call me an idiot for saying that Townsend will never make it. He, along with Ade, was piss poor last night. 5 goals scored and neither got a goal or assist and neither produced any kind of good play that I can remember off hand.

Really can't wait till they are sold off...

so assisting Lamela to one of the greatest goals ever doesn't count?

Kane is learning his trade fast, and i really hope that he starts Sunday.
I hope he starts as well. I mean, what more does he need to do to convince Poch that he's our best striker? Neither Ade or Bobby can argue that they could have scored a hatrick last night (without the help of penalties...unlike a argentine I will choose not to mention).

I don't disagree with the trying difficult things bit, but In my opinion Gazza was just far more effective almost immediately.

And he was the type of player that even when stuff didn't come off, his opponents knew they'd been in a game.

At times, you can forget Lamela is out there, such is his presence on a game.

Played ok last night though. Great Goals.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree as I think Gazza would flit through game, especially at the start of his Tottenham career when it could be argued that he was playing in Chrissey Waddle's shadow.

It was only when Mr Diamond Lights left that Gazza game into his own, a year older and with that much more experience he became better and then the World Cup approached and he was the Best England player I have seen in my lifetime.

I just feel Lamela's Tottenham career is taking the same path.

Fair do's.

Waddle was electric at that season. He left and we signed Lineker.

I always thought it was a shame that we didn't keep him. Gascoigne, Waddle and Lineker in the same team would have been amazing to watch. Lineker would have got even more goals!
