He isn't slow.. Not as fast as walker then again not many can claim to be
and maybe same ish as rose
But he's certainly no slow coach
He had a very decent - to great season at Swansea
And he's certainly better than anyone we currently have.
With potential to become a leading LB

Ben Davies isn't speedy quick is one concern but like most growing taller lads I reckon that could improve.

Bale when he first came was not as quick on the pitch as when he left... Bentaleb is another player I'm expecting to be more faster with strength and age.

He's about on level with Danny Rose in ability, imo. A big bonus for him though is his lack of mistakes. According to EPLindex, Rose has 1 error per 559 minutes, whereas Davies has one per 2,121 minutes.

I still wish we would look for a better player for this spot, but he's a decent grab.

LOL

Lennon raped him when we won 3-1 at Swansea, he was all over the place.

He's average at best, no better than Rose.

With our existing options on the wings, we need a left back who's quick, and will run up and down the flank all day. Most teams will have a field day with Davies.

And from what I have seen of Swansea last year, not only Lennon that caused him trouble. I'd go as far to say that his one-on-one defending is worse than Rose's.

I'm not a fan of stats but he won less tackles than Rose, that should set alarm bells ringing straight away.

As others have mentioned in the various transfer threads, we need quality, not average players.

Walker has his pro's and cons but the difference in quality/talent between the 2 is massive.

Last season both Southampton and Spurs played with full backs pushing forward at every opportunity. Walker had the pace to recover if we lost the ball, Davies on the other hand will be praying our DM's due their job and fill in for him.

That's because lennon is very bloody quick... And when Lennon is on a good day he's very good...it just so happened he was going through a good patch

I always rated Neil Taylor so if Davies is keeping him out then he must have some quality about him.

Right now I would take Mitchell Thomas over Rose...

.. and a good manager takes average players and gets them to play better. Pochettino's record in this so far has been pretty good. He made Lallana, Shaw and Lambert look like internationals (until they pulled on an England shirt...)

And when the coach or manager isn't Pochettino.

Lennon's struggled all season to beat his man, regardless of how fast or slow the full back was ... yet he made Davies look like an amateur.

With our style under Dim and now Poch, we need full backs or should I say wing backs who have the attributes to attack and get back and defend when we lose the ball. Walker's suspect going forward and prone to brainfarts but he's an exceptional athlete. Having a left and right back who have a turn of pace and can run all day is essential to maintaining a balanced side. It was painful to watch us get hit time and time again on the left due to Rose's failings ... I just don't see Davies as the player who we need.

So basically you watched Swansea only when they played us, and that's what you judge Davies
