Tottenham extended their unbeaten run but missed the chance to go fourth with a goalless draw against Chelsea.

The intensity of our play in matches, combined with a lack of recovery time, showed in this game. What is positive is that we would normally have lost this game but didn't. And the fact it took Chelscum until nearly 70mins to register a shot on target (park the bus!!).

Still, 5th in league, +13 GD, second best in terms of goals conceded and 4th best in terms of goals scored and 13 games unbeaten are things not to be sniffed out.

Coupled with being 10pts clear of Chelscum and have 19 goal difference between us......makes me laugh.

To have secured a point after having only 2 days worth of recovery following an exhausting trip to Azerbaijan isn't bad at all.

The idiots at the Premier League & BT could have switched it to a Monday evening & we probably would have a seen a much more intense encounter because of the extra rest time. Congratulations to the dipshi*ts who made this fixture stand; a dull nil-nil draw that everyone is glad to see over.

I didn't think it was "dull". Frustrating, yes, but there was a lot of good football. It was just a game where the defences played better than the attacks.

In the circumstances, with the long trip back from Baku leading to our players visibly slowing down after about 65 minutes, a goalless draw was a reasonable result. Chelsea needed the win more than we did.

We looked very 'leggy' from 60 mins onward which is hardly surprising. We certainly had the chances to win it but a draw was fair enough.

I'm disappointed that we drew 0-0 with a mid table team, down on their luck! Shame we have to play away games in that Europa League farce.

Disappointed as winning would have put us so close to the top. Yet this year we have not lost a game after the Europa League and this time with just about 48 hrs recovery we had to play the reigning champions. Trying to look with perspective I have got to say we have made a big leap forward with signs that there is more to come.

No goals = dull for most people, sad but true.

Today:
Pochettino:
"We played the defending champions and it is good that you get the feeling that Chelsea was a small team and Tottenham feel they can win every game," he said.

"It's not easy. We are one of the younger teams in the Premier League.

"We need to keep working hard because there's only been 14 games and today it's too early to talk about the end of the season.

"I think we created enough chances to score. Chelsea only had one shot on target in the second half from Hazard, so I think we deserved more.

"Chelsea played one of their best games of the season, and I think that when you make the effort we showed today – and the maturity – you have to be happy with the players."

Chelsea just don't have it. If they had believed in themselves, they would have stepped up their attacks after 70 minutes when we got tired. Instead, they were interested in wasting time and settled for a point rather than three.

Hopefully these words, cleverly brought up by Mauricio, have come back to haunt Mourinho on his team's display against us, today.

It's a decent result, I would definitively have taken a draw at kick off. Chelski are going to improve so even with a ten point lead finishing ahead of them is far from a sure thing. In years gone by after a long away trip on Thursday we'd probably have folded against the champions on Sunday but there was no sign of that. We're improving in so many ways as a team, the mentality is different. If this carries on this side can go a long way.

Was not dull. It could have gone either way right until the end and was higher quality than Goons v Norwich. I do not think a draw is that bad for us and we have not lost ground at the top of the table. Chelsea needed the points more.

We flew back 6000 miles to get a draw against lower league opposition. The Goons flew 14 mins to do the same.

Agree. We play well against the teams in the top 6, but can't beat the relegation fodder in our own back yard.... Some things don't change ;)

The "excitement" of the EPL usually means tactically unsound defending, which is why games such as these are thought to be boring. Seeing a young team display maturity beyond their years, as well grit and determination, is what I would find interesting.

I'll take that !!.... just two days recovery time and one days preparation.
A year ago we would have been spanked by Chelski after playing on thursday, so we are definitely improving, learning and moving forward.

I would have taken the draw too and the results around us doesn't really hurt either. I'm peeed off with our consistently preferring short corners though, probably because we only put 1 decent corner in the box out of every 3. There's nothing deceptive about it and we end up squandering the advantage of the corner usually.

Agree. The number of times we have a free kick inside the opp half and we go backwards is equally frustrating.
Not as frustrating as we have been though. Probably mor baffling than frustrating to be fair.
