The FA Cup may be a competition increasingly derided for its significance in the age of Premier and Champions League billions, but Tottenham‘s defeat to Manchester United in the semi-final has led to a series of questions being asked about Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure as manager.

I haven't read the article, but is the headline referring to Sissoko per chance?

It follows the general Football Whipsers template. Spend 40% recounting historical facts, spend the next 40% on displaying stats and figures that may or may not be relevant or telling the whole story, and spend the last 20% on not over-comitting to the conclusion that you thought the article was building up to.

Jesus, we have a run of three bad games, two of which were against the top two teams, and suddenly the squad is not up to scratch and is redressing? In spite of t6he league being much harder this year?

These blogs will literally write anything for clicks.

My conclusion from reading the article is that, to beat Man U, on Saturday, we should have switched to back 3. Which I don't think is really what they ( Football Whispers) intended.

Following from your conclusion, we looked stable defensively as a back 3 earlier in the season so I thought we would have changed back when Alderweireld got fit again. We have paid for freezing out Rose and Alderweireld, will lessons be learned how to deal better with their disputes?

Agreed. But we could still have dropped Dier into defence to play a 3 (5) since Wanyama came back from injury.
When we did this on Saturday we stayed as a 4 & Jan switched up left back. Seemed strange to switch probably our best player this season, out of his best position.

You are correct but it looks like we don't fully trust the match fitness or reliability of Wanyama at the moment.
