We may be leaner & fitter, but I don't think we're much faster. Still Chadli & Lamela show they have no pace whatsoever. Son & N'Jie are the wide players that look like they could be the direct speed we've not had since Bale & Lennon were in their pomp. Townsend seems to have pace in spades, but just can't wait to duck inside at every opportunity. Speed & decisiveness is what we need more of. Once we have that, then we will have that greater fear factor.

Lads it's Tottenham :D

Even though we've been on an upward curve since ENIC took over this comment by old red nose has been so dam true as all Spurs fans know.
However, as Bob Dylan said, "The times are a changing" and after supporting Spurs since 1957 I genuinely believe we're going to be a force to be reckoned with over this coming decade.

Jason Burt has written something that some on here don't want to hear. Burt is a highly respected writer on football. Pochettino has quietly done very important work. I have the utmost loathing for the people who have been carping. I thought about what would have happened if Klopp had come and I doubted that he would have made a connection with some of the utter wankers in our home support.
As for the comment about whether this would have been written if we had lost to City, it says more about the poster than anything logical.

Nice little backhand slap at Sherwood:

"So exploit that, also, by getting a training ground manager which is what Pochettino is - as was his predecessor, Andre Villas-Boas, of course."

Burt probably wants to forget Sherwood was manager here. Cant blame him. He stabbed Burt's guy ib the back and twisted the knife. For the record, i'd like to forget dim was our manager as well.

Would this article have been written if we had lost to Man City? I think not.
But they beat Man. City didn't they. I know one result doesn't mean they have experienced a total turnaround but It does indicate Spurs' may be heading in the right direction?
I guess we will know more after this weekend (where I expect the scousers will be playing hard trying to impress their new Manager.)

That you're necessarily cynical and more of a glass half empty guy, without even looking at your name Mullers the description fits you perfectly my friend :D

What you said was completely illogical and a straw man argument. I can only assume that you weren't happy about a positive article. The article was written during the international break and after the Swansea match.

I think people may have missed @Mullers' point, which I understood not to be about Spurs.

It was about the press and the way a few good results, especially an upset against a rich club, will make any given team the next big thing, on the way up, a testament to their manager's genius, etc.

Then the same team gets a few bad results and it's such a disappointment, where has it all gone wrong, the manager's job is at risk, blah blah blah...

It's only "negative" about the press. And how is that inappropriate?

I had the swansea game down as a scrappy win or a draw since we played on the Thursday and I had the Liverpool game down as a loss whoever the boss was. Win lose or draw I certainly won't be getting carried away with things.

We had the worse start to the season since 2008-09 which was the worse since Ramos and now people are talking about Champions league football. I keep telling people that the premier league is a marathon not a sprint, I'm not drawing much conclusions at this early stage.
