Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino insisted he is happy with Christian Eriksen after Denmark manager Morten Olsen’s stinging criticism of the playmaker.
Be interesting to see if we do bring Yedlin over early. It would be good to have Yedlin and Walker as options for Right back. Maybe that would mean Dier getting more time at CB where he has put in a solid show and possibly Chiriches out in Jan...
The good news for Poch' is that he doesn't need to do anything other than support Eriksen. If Eriksen is the type of guy to respond well to a rocket up the back-side, he will still take it on board and be thinking how he could improve. If not, he will be pleased Poch backed him. Win, win for Mauricio.
I guess that if he brings Yedlin over would he loan him out if Walker comes back into contention earlier than expected? At least while in Seattle he's playing to a high standard. Been watching him each game and he is an excellent prospect for us.
Good from Poch, personally unless Walker is looking long term badly injured I would leave Yedlin at Seattle while he is still developing at a good rate. The last thing we want is for him to come to England and just sit and play reserves football. I also think that people still continue to judge Naughton from his displays at LB. He has had far more good than bad displays whilst playing at RB and isn't a liability to the team. In fact his less cavalier approach compared to walker has been a help on a few occasions.
Walker is undoubtedly first choice, but Naughton is still a decent EPL RB and I feel comfortable with him playing there with Dier as cover until Walker returns.
