My FF curse strikes again... Wes Morgan as Capt for a nailed on clean sheet against Hull and they concede before half time

I should use my power for good but it's much more fun being bad :sneaky:

Anyone considering swapping Kane out for Janssen? it's risky, but will net you 3 mill. in addition Kane have looked a little off for some time, while Janssen look sharp.

I'm also a little worried that ppl will drop Kane from their teams and his value dropping.

The risk is that Janssen won't play as much though, allthough he should based on his cameo against Everton.

Lol... It means you have a good start that you can build on. No need to go crazy now. Try to steadily build on it and stay ahead of the curve.

my trouble Ausp I never do well on any long term FF game, and I can't compete anymore for some reason, but I used to win quite a lot monthly comps, and a couple of half season games, around 24k in prize money, but this game i'm never usually in the top 100k let alone top k, though after today i've dropped with 2 still to play

That's interesting. Do you know why you don't do well with long term ff games? If not, maybe you could learn a thing or two about yourself.

I echo these sentiments, have never started so well. We're currently joint 4th in the SC league but you've still got Hazard and Payet to score :(

with the shorter games (wasn't working during success money wins) i used to plan 2-6 teams out and literally transfer for transfer, they would be entered at the start of the game month, by which time you knew the form of most players (sometimes having to take risk to win), i even had the need for Spurs to keep a clean sheet at home to an inform Boro team once and we drew 0-0, and embarrassingly sat/stood when i had a ST watch Jenas score a goal in the dying seconds for Newcastle against us to win 1k.

now working I can't put as much effort in even on the monthly comps, but with the longer game with rotation and injuries and having to be very careful using transfers in longer games and the need to getting off to a good start, have been my downfull

It's a marathon not a sprint. The FPL game rewards patience. The 1st week ranking doesn't reflect reality as many managers will have wasted their bench boost or triple captain chips this week. Those people have no chance of a high finish. I've only played FPL for two seasons now (finished 33k & 111k) but i've learned a lot in that time. It's not really about football knowledge but rather a game of risk management.

There will be times when you get lucky and times where you don't. There's not really much you can do about that. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that when you had a good week you made good picks and when you had a bad one your decisons were bad. There are too many unforseeables in football for that to be true and the variance is massive.

The managers who have consistently good records aren't necessarily the ones who make the best picks but those who avoid doing stupid things that cost them points. All those little mistakes add up, whether it is taking an unnecessary hit or missing a 0.1M price rise. Just 2pts a week in silly mistakes is 76pts over the course of an FPL season which might be a 1M place difference in the ranking at the end.

yep after playing fantasy football for 15 years now that's a pretty good description, mainly for this game. in other games you get some names that appear pretty often on leader-board's most of them do in access of 20 teams, then you have the real multi entrants that enter 100's. I know 4 very successful players that do very well however many teams they enter, and will always win money over a season, though there are fewer games so it's getting harder now.

Capoue, Evans and Foster all on my bench with 25 points between them. Two seasons ago I had 48 points on my.mobile bench in week one.

FPL is exactly like the PL though, the rankings don't really matter until about 10 weeks in when it starts to take shape.

Safe to say I bombed the first round. Apart from three truly great choices, the rest of my picks were even't footballers it seems.
