Had a reasonable start to the season and I'm 3rd currently in the SC league. I guess people will start to catch up as they do their wildcards.

4th in the SC league, must be my best start ever. Last year I went on holiday in September after a shit start, forgot to update for three weeks and slipped to virtually bottom so looking to avoid a repeat.

Question for a non-Official league game - this is a draft league, I have the first waiver spot - Aurier was drafted before the season (we allow non-league players to be drafted). So, now, my choices are: Renato Sanches, Davide Zappacosta, or wait to see what happens with Adrien Silva at Leicester.

I have Moses on my team, so grabbing Zappacosta makes some sense as a back-up (we allow roster changes up to 5 minutes before matches) - but he is a back-up. I also have a strong defense already.

Sanches - probably the most hyped pick here - but not sure he will create many points (similar to official game). One of those players who is probably more fun to watch in real life, than to have on a fantasy team.

Silva would probably be my choice, but as of today, he still does not have international clearance to play for Leicester because they went over the deadline. I expect he may get it - but if it is later this week, I will have to wait to grab him next week in waivers - and pass on Zappacosta or Sanches.

So, do you take the potentially exciting young player in Sanches, the safe, but limited upside Zappacosta, or wait to see what happens with Adrien Silva?

Take Zappacosta (y), While he may seem the least exciting option if you are allowed late roster changes he will be much more useful coming in as a wing back for a solid Chelsea team than the other options.

Sanches is a good player but a terrible FPL asset. He'll basically be a DM. I'd rather have Tom Carroll :wideyed:.

Adrien Silva just isn't very good (although opinions may differ :cautious:). In the Leicester side he'll spend most of the mach watching the ball sail over his head. Still a better option than Sanches though but you wouldn't want either of them in your team. Better a player you only want if another squad member is rested or injured than a player you would never want at all.

Thanks! - I think I also just read that FIFA will deny clearance for Silva until January. Seems stupid.

I've also set up a mini league for the The Daily Telegraph game. will need 5 different managers to qualify for any possible prize which 10% should come back to the forum

How are people doing this season? Not many posts in this thread this year but I think it's been the most interesting season since I started playing FPL. The template keeps changing and people are making big moves.

The top player in the SC Classic League is around the 3k rank which is impressive (y) while the current leader in the SC H2H league has ridden his luck to amass 42pts despite having a lowly rank of 1.7M :wideyed:.

I have been very lucky to lead the H2H league. I can’t get close in any of my other leagues!!!

It's kind of cool to see a team doing as badly as yours is leading the H2H :).

If you've got nothing else to play for you should definitely target it. Use your TC and BB chips when you are up against your toughest rivals. Save taking hits for when you are scheduled to play a dead team. Good luck (y).

Just a quick question, spurs are not playing this round, but are listed as playing twice next week ( tues & thurs ) does that mean any spurs players you have will get double points next week? So worth doing triple captain and bench boost

Probably worth triple captaining Harry if he's recovered for Swansea. I haven't decided if I will yet though.

I've dropped from 4th to 64th in the SC league since the start of November. The two midweek rounds especially were horrible for me but I've recovered a bit in the two Christmas rounds. 12th in the H2H.

They won't get double points but they have two games so they will get points for each of those games. It is a good week to use a chip. Triple Captain and Free Hit are viable options, Bench Boost less so as there will probably be better opportunities but it depends on your squad. Note that you can only use one chip at a time.

Am I right in assuming that an awful lot of us will have Triple Captained Sir Harold this week?

Nope saving them up for double game weeks when FA Cup means 3 or 4 teams might have extra fixtures in the week.

Seeing your post above the quoted, has that rule changed this season? I’m sure last season I did the bench and double the same week

You are mistaken. You have only ever been allowed to play one chip a week which is why so many play their 2nd wildcard the week before their bench boost chip.

Glad I ended up not triple captaining Harry! I used my free hit instead and it didn't pay off as well as I'd hoped but I'm steadily climbing the league again and broke back into the top 50 now.

Saving my wildcard for after the January transfer deadline. Have a feeling Tosun will be a great signing for Everton but I'm not sticking him in for the game against us.
