Lol don't you remember the roller skating that went on their, ended up speeding down the slope uncontrollably, to end up either hitting the bus stop or a bus it was the only way to stop when wearing roller boots.

Don't remind me any more about Picketts Lock - I have traumatic memories of the place and they are now flooding back even more than they were earlier this morning. :eek:mg:

Big Dave an ITK!!! Well he's in the right business but can he keep his mind on the job and not the women in the office - LOL

I was in and engineering firms offices a few weeks ago and I saw the plans and photo images of the new Liverpool stadium. It looks fairly impressive too.

BTW - anyone seen the plans for the renovation of the Camp Nou? It's a Fosters job and it looks great!!! Roof and all!

It depends which part of Enfield

I notice you've not really done anything to indicate the legitimacy of 'Big Dave'...

Lets be honest here NG, Dave is a nice bloke who wouldnt shit me about. But there are question marks about his sanity sometimes.

I am interested in seeing what he comes up with over the next few weeks.

Just seen the details on the Crossrail project - Anyone know many details of this fabled Chelsea-Hackney Line that has been inherited by the Cross London Rail Links Ltd.?

Apparently, from what i can find out, it was a proposed SW/NE rail link that was to run up through Hackney and Homerton onto Leytonstone and the route was "safeguarded" (i assume this meant assuring no planning permission or excavation permits granted anywhere that could disrupt any future development of the project), but since that the plan has been changed to terminate at Hackney Central, then splitting to join existing lines to Epping (Central line) and Woolwich (North London line).

With that amount of ground work done out to Hackney, if this Crossrail getting the go ahead means that this Chelsea/Hackney line might be looked at again then i'd hope that the men who matter at the Lane are keeping their ears open - get in early enough with a few "proposed adjustments" to the route and that could give not only us, but Haringey in general a real leg up in the transport links...

It won't be up and running until 2017, and that's if the work goes to schedule.

they could have brought up the waste industrial estates which were not that far from the station.

They could, but those were earmarked for housing and shopping years ago. The only site left in Tottenham, more or less, is where the gasometers opposite Tesco's and IKEA are, and that will cost a colossal amount just to clear and decontaminate.

good point ss57, but i don't think we even approached the council for permission which is a shame. i think this saga will drag on and on.

Dave is in the right place (position) to get this info. As SLS says he's not always sane, can be a dirty pervert, and carries the ginger gene but he's cool as f*** and honest too.

He's also pretty shit hot at his job.

Just curious as to how moving to Enfield would improve transport links? No underground , overground line between liverpool street, but no acess from outside London like WHL currently has. Sounds like a nightmare scenario to me.

I have more info on this - and some drawings!

The ground is at WHL, which means moving out for a while.

Big Dave (I love calling him that) thinks we're sharing with Spammers.

I'll try and pdf the drawings today if I have time. I am at work after all.

Does anyone know if I'll get Dave in trouble by posting them here? Can people search your PC address etc etc and find out the leak source?

Our big problem is the West Stand, which ran way over budget and was a major contributory factor to our financial troubles of the 80s, and what did we get for all this money? A ludicrously small capacity, given its size.

Those of us with experience in construction will probably tell me otherwise, but surely it should be possible to begin work on its replacement whilst the ground is still in use? After all, there's a lot of space between the current stand and the High Road. This would minimise the time we'd have to camp elsewhere.

make of them what you will - Rob, Mods, if anyone wants these down then go for it, but lets face it, these things are old now and i doubt they're actually still on the table for consideration
