Spurs will consider a loan deal for former Ars*nal midfielder Alex Song if we're unsuccessful in our attempts to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton.

Don't believe that. Even if Sandro goes, we have still too many midfielders. If we replace one with one, how are we going to trim the squad?

I assume we'd sell Dembele or Paulinho along with Sandro if MS or Song comes in...

I'm hoping we don't sell any of last year's signings to see how they go after a year in the prem, with a new and better coach, could see them flourish.

I'm assuming our squad will be left with a defensive midfield 4 of Capoue, Bentelab, Dembele & one other. Paulinho and Sandro will both need to be sold if we buy in that one other (probably MS).

But I don't believe we're looking to get anyone in on loan rather than work with what we've got.

I cannot see Paulinho being sold.

Yes he's an ex gunner but he's an excellent player and suits what Poch is trying to do.

Personally think this makes a butt load of sense, but only if we can't do a deal for Morgan.

Song is a very accomplished passer and setup Van Persie so many times in their last season together.

If we ca't get Morgan then we should defo be looking to complete a loan for Song as a contingency plan.

We need to make peace with the idea that Sandro is likely to leave before window shuts and I'm doubting that Paulinho has much of a future with Spurs either.

It's sad that with a DOF we are still scratching around for last minute loan deals to fill a important position.

Poch hasn't had a chance to work with Paulinho yet. He hasn't been used properly by us yet either so I think it's a bit early to be talking about shipping him out. We'd also lose a shedload off the price we paid so I can't see it happening. Think Sandro may well move on, but if we don't get Schneiderlin I'd expect us to stick with what we've got, at least until Jan.

That's fair, I do like Paulinho and can see that he has clear ability but I'm just not sure whether he offers the right qualities to play in one of those 2 deep lying CM positions. For me he's a player that likes to burst into the box with a late run, rather than be disciplined in that central role.

Capoue and Bentaleb will stay put and hold their position. I think Dembele would too and Morgan would if we signed him. My concern is that Paulinho doesn't really fit the system but we'll see I guess.

Poch has worked with and knows Schneiderlin well though.

Paulinho seems to be the fall guy here.
He had a dull season for sure, but compared to Lamela or Soldado he had a blinder. Yet everyone seems prepared to forgive the other 2.
He surely deserves until the Jan window.

He shouldn't be leaving if there is no replacement. The club should have learned by now.

I hear ya but the difference is that Soldado (at Valencia) and Lamela (at Roma) had shown what they can do at this level, in Europe, whereas for Paulinho it was harder to be able to see a lot of solid evidence of what he can do.

I actually think he had a decent season last year. He scored some good, important goals and showed glimpses of real quality. But with that said he also drifted out of a lot games and in the World Cup looked seriously limited. I'd like nothing more than to see him come good for us but I wonder if Poch has already made his mind up on him.

Time will tell and if he stays then great but if he goes then Song OR Morgan would be ideal replacements for him & Sandro.

I wouldn't be surprised if the following happens MS for townsend, wellbeck in and sandro on loan to saints or abroad.
just have a feeling we well give Andros to saints to seal the deal.

I agree to an extent, but i really do think that Poch has his mind set on MS and perhaps want's to try up until the last minute to get him. He may even wait until January. MS is key i think to making Poch's system tick.
