A lot has been said how Spurs have an English backbone and have a lot of English Internationals or players on the verge of the national team.

Well the English national team are shit and at the moment so are we, we should get rid of the English backbone and buy more foreigners, the scum have fuck all English players and aren't performing too badly.

Robinson, Dawson, Jenas, Defoe, Bent, Gardner, bollocks.

The only player who played last week was Robinson, Defoe went along for the sightseeing as usual, so to say we have alot of internationals is BS, as half of them now don't play for england anymore.

My first choice would be having the spine of the team being English or British.

But if that means sitting in the relegation zone all season then sod that and get them in from Timbuktu if it brings results.

just a backbone of any kind would be nice

english backbone last night -- dawson, jenas, and bent...

sent shivers down the spine,... if they had one... all puns intended.

I am truly disappointed and the midfield needs attendence once again.

When the English backbone comments were made, it was at a time when we had Robinson in goal, who was constantly reminding us all why he was Englands no.1, we had King at CB, who was making us stractch our heads as to why the likes of Rio were ahead of him for Engand, we had Carrick in CM pulling the strings, and we had a striker upfront called Jermain Defoe who had not long been linked with a summer £30m move to Chelsea, with the magority of Spurs fans wondering how Michael Owen was still starting ahead of him for England.
