    RUMOURS

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR are reported to be ready to battle it out with Aston Villa and Manchester City for QPR midfielder Lee Cook.

    Source: TheSpursWeb

The 24-year-old has been ever-present in the Championship this season and remarkably QPR chairman Gianni Paladini has slapped a £10million price tag on Cook.

Spurs are said to be favourites to land Cook who would be able to remain in the capital if he moved to White Hart Lane.

QPR boss John Gregory said: "Will he still be here after January? We will have to wait and see, If he does go, I hope it's for £10million!"

    Is this guy a lefty?

umm, 10 million pounds? Not sure bout that one!

He's an out and out left winger, very good according to my QPR adoring mate who is desperate to see him stay. He's also english so it would be a good buy but quite frankly Paladini is being completely daft. I appreciate tryin to mark up ur player to prevent bids but thats just sad, he's worth 4 million tops!

This guy is meant to be good, but even 4m is over the top. Much rather have Giles Barnes

Why do lower league clubs put such a silly price tag on young english players, its no suprise that most clubs go for a foreign option instead because their much cheaper.

I only want to know one thing: is he quick? It is all too easy to look like a good midfielder at Championship pace, but in the Premiership you (and we especially) need genuine pace to play wide. Andy Reid and, to an extent, Ziegler, show that having a sweet left foot is not enough.

£10m for Cooky you must be having a laugh!

I see Lee out in Watford all the time. Not sure how good he is, but I don't think there is anyone in the Championship worth £10m, and most definately not Lee Cook.

A couple of mates support QPR and speak to Lee all the time up Watford. They rate him but I'm certain he is not the answer to our left side problems.

We need to be targetting players with proven quality at a higher level.

Very good shout. Can play on either flank.

10m Too much for a young boy

The £10million bit is hype. Saying "I hope it's ten million is not the same as rating him at that price. We have done brilliantly with players like Dawson, Lennon, Huddlestone and arguable Defoe, buyibg players cheaply from the championship. Paying £10million for a QPR player defeats the object, and I'm sure Levy wouldn't do it.

I would happily recieve both Barnes and Cook for a combined total of £5-8mill.
Anything more expensive isn't worth having.
  11. Reece
looks ok , but most of that defending is just SHIT.

the best deal for us would be if QPR were willing to loan him till the end of the season, with a fee being arranged at the end of it if we wanted to buy him - this way we could see if he was any good or not. But I can't see QPR being this nice about it - they'll try and snitch every single penny out of us :bang:

Bear in mine! Rasiak was a top scorer at Derby, Flopped at Super Spurs, Top scorer again at Southampton....that is the different between the premiership and the championships......many of us would like to see pechart, dixon, banard etc play regularly in premiership, in the expence of mido etc..... by the virtue of that they did well in the under 18s and reserve matches...no way! routledge & ziegler are given chances to prove themselve as loanee...nothing to show. They will follow the path of jackson, marney, yeates etc.
