Apparently our supporters in the US are being asked some, uhm, "interesting" questions in a fan survey today. Definitely another great move for PR... #SackedInTheMorning

Thankfully, we're a lot more enlightened on Spurs Community.

Although there may be the odd sexist comment every now and then, we've taken care over the years to ensure that no more than a handful of women are ever in a position to be offended by it.

It's a question. Hit 'Definitely disagree' and move on to the next question.

I don't know what's more appalling - CFC employing clickbait or "asking this question is absolutely indefensible" stance.

Well, I know...

You have to question why they're doing it surely? Let's say a decent percentage agreed with it. What's that going to tell the club? "Make sure marketing appeals to sexist muppets"? Along the lines of "don't make women too visible in your adverts in the US"? It's hard to think of a reason to ask this that isn't disagreeable.

If we had kept to the old school tradition of the woman's the home maker and the man goes out to work, then we wouldn't have the denigration of the moral fabric of western society that we do now.

Often surveys are used to validate assumptions. There are parts of the USA (bible belt etc) where I think many of us would assume this view is fairly well held.

In asking this question the club can validate if this assumption is true or not, and therefore adjust how they target their marketing / better understand who their customers are.

If you’re in the USA and strongly disagree with the statement, click that option.

That’s the whole point.

Sexist muppets or social justice warriors, these people are customers. I'll give you an example so that you understand:

  • Say, if they're 90% social justice warriors, then producing a mixed-race non-binary gendered figurine of Harry Kane might be a commercial success.
  • Conversely, if it turns out US Spurs fans are all sexist muppets, the club could make a lot of money by offering them deals on West Ham merchandise.

Right, and I'd personally rather we just left the latter group to West Ham :p

Those questions are typically randomly selected from a pool of “personality questions”. Spurs wouldn’t have put the questions together itself.

At my last job, we created “personas” for marketing using these dimwitted questionnaires that were drafted and then analysed by a third party research organisation. I didn’t think it was particularly effective myself.

No idea how the absolute fanny on CFC wrote a full dog-shit article about it. Get a life ffs.

People should be careful not to prevent women being at home and making it their place.
The tragedy of the last thirty years is that for the vast majority of the population it has ceased to be an option.

Not sure' tragedy' is the right word.
The number of women who choose to stay at home
has risen over the past 25 years.
Currently about a third of all women choose to do so..
More than an option it would seem.
