Modern football at its best

I learnt all the best words at football back in the 1970's

Never did me any harm. Load of soft ****s about now who shouldn't even be at a soccer game. Thankfully a lot of them wont be when we get back home
Never, ever use that word on here again!

S*CCER

IT'S FOOTBALL, FOR FUCKS SAKE!

One was simply using the language that many of these iPad carrying supporters at Wembley would understand

One thinks it is appropriate to refer to the beautiful game as the S word whilst at the pick n mix, popcorn, atmosphere vacuum stadium

When we go home I will certainly revert back to the term more commonly used with those familiar to the game pre Sky era

I do feel however that there could be some confusion ahead once the NFL franchise Jobby kicks in at our new Arena/Bowl!

So somebody was willing to fight for their belief that they think our captain is shit? What a hill to die on.

"Soccer" has been in use in England for a century at least.

Rugby football - rugger.
Association football - soccer.

I'll grant that it's a posh/establishment term, but there's no reason a self-respecting Brit can't use it.

Edit: To keep on topic, I will fight anyone who disagrees.

Didn't Posh twats used to use the word as a way to look down on the working class, to belittle their sport. I think that's why a lot of people take issue with it.

You play it with your feet, therefore football.

This is as diplomatic as I can be without upsetting a load of Americans again tbh.

I don't know about that historical angle tbh, but I can pretty much guarantee that most people take issue with the term because it's viewed as "American". Never mind that it's actually a handy name when it comes to differentiating between different rule codes for various forms of football (Association, Rugby, Aussie Rules, Gaelic, American are the ones I can think of - are there more?).

There was a couple of them in block 120 last season who would regularly pick fights with other fans in the block if we weren't winning. So at least there was some entertainment if the lads on the pitch weren't doing it.

I don't think its really anything out of the ordinary, there's easily a bunch in here that I would have no problem beating the shit out of. I'm not your friend because you support Spurs. We have an affiliation, that's it.

Ok. Let me visualise what happened in your block that day. Something like this? As you described as a fierce fight?
