Of all the strange things happening at Tottenham this season, perhaps the most unusual can be found in the singing. A good chunk of it was about Moussa Sissoko on Saturday evening and it wasn't in an ironic sort if way, either.

Luckily Poch takes a different approach because the fan one is pretty shitty and wouldn’t have inspired these performances.
Don't let the tail wag the dog.
Apart from a few
out of order Internet warrior nutters
Sissoko gets what he deserves.

He doesn't read Fan Forums
i f he 's got any sense
so we can be straight
and tell it like it is.
Poch's job is different
to appraise each player
and deal out the necessary treatment.
'Kick up the arse or arm round shoulder
or whatever
You don't know what medicine
he doled out.
It certainly worked with Foyth
but he's only a kid.

'inspired' is a stretch
but he has contributed much more
in the last few performances.
I am well pleased
for him and Spurs.

I’m not saying the fans can’t complain. I do it myself about Sissoko as he was a nightmare of a player. But I’m delighted he is now putting in performances despite the negative reaction to him. Says a lot about the character of the man and it’s character that Poch sees on a daily basis that we aren’t privy to. We moan but let’s not pretend that it is constructive to our club in any way. It’s just us bitching.

Still very limited as a player. He is just playing slightly better.
He plays to his strengths and tries to minimise his weaknesses. His positional discipline is very important. He, like Lamela, have shown mental strength, a commodity known for its scarcity at Spurs of old. He is playing more than slightly better. Your faint praise illustrates the problem players have to surmount over the morons in the fan base.

I don't think the poster was describing Sissoko's performance as inspired. I hope he doesn't read fan forums, but I wouldn't be surprised if players did.

I am genuinely pleased when I see he's playing these days. Love the way he brings the ball forward so rapidly and now he's got his confidence back, he's playing really decent passes and so much better on the ball. Super fit, strong, half decent in the air and willing to defend. Very useful player to have.

Careful, if you read his thread in chat you'll see the words 'fantastic' and 'magnificent' to describe a performance yesterday that was at best 'good'. He's certainly playing well (for two games in a row no less!) but the will for some people on here for this to be some sort of biblical renaissance means reason has gone well out the window.

Spot on. What motivates one player would destroy another and Poch has a pretty good handle on how to get the best performance from most players. perhaps i have rose colored glasses, but one thing i have appreciated over the years is that most Spurs fans get behind their players but still offer up reasonable critiques which may be debatable but are in the spirit of team improvement. (Soldado is a case in point). Over the last few years, that seems to have changed and there are some louder, less considered opinions that probably have to happen as a team's fan base grows. We all know that Sissoko has some flaws but it seems mental strength isn't one of them and i'd have to think that is part of the influence that Poch has brought to the team.

"At best, 'good'"? He was given MOTM by some outlets, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Moreover, our travelling support were very happy with him.
